I'm having my interview next Monday. I would greatly appreciate if anyone have tips or advises.

I've been studying the 100 civic and history questions. I've already printed out the driving directions.

Applying based on 3 year marriage, I've got a box of evidence:

-driver license

-expired passport and current passport

-hubby's birth certificate

-marriage license

-conditional GC and 10 year GC

-3 year IRS tax transcripts

-2 extra passport photos in case they don't like the ones I submitted

-evidence to prove that we're still together: electricity bills, bank statements, auto insurance, pictures, etc.

Am I missing anything? Thank you in advance!

You've got it all covered - I wouldn't give them the conditional green card, they're only asking for the 10-yr one so I left the 2-yr one at home.

Evidence is good, but no one even asked for that from me when I came fully prepared.

Good luck on your interview!

I also submitted the purchase summary of our house. If you rent, then the rent agreement.

As far as the interview is concerned, as an aid to memory I used a technique I used in my accountancy finals. Unclutter your mind and learn only the minimum

3 Colonies ? key is 'new' so new york, new hampshire, new jersey > forget the rest

2 american public holidays > christmas and new years (same as uk)

how many in congress 435

I knew it was four hundred and some so I just start with 4 and then go down one and then up one so 4 -3 -5

right/responsibilities - just remember 'vote' as it works for both - forget the rest

by using this technique you can remember the 100 easily

I studied past questions for the accountancy exam and realised that 40% of the curriculum never came up - so I studied the 60% only. It worked.

Hope my doctor/pilot didn't use the same technique

P.S. On a humourous note...

At least you don't have to worry about taking a baby with you to the USCIS office....

Lol...That requires extra planning....;)

Seriously though...

If your spouse and/or another person can come with you...That can be of help too...

Grant it though, that they might not be allowed in the interview room

And would have to wait outside in the waiting room instead....

But having that extra support person can be of help too, and yes, that can be somewhat comforting and calming to have them around too...(it helped in my case...)

Good luck...

Ant

all except the rent agreement - the USCIS specifically mentions that.

If you own the house then purchase agreement and/or mortage

You didn't mention that but presumably you submitted it

hope you remember what kind of wood george washington's teeth were made from....

I'm a little nervous as well, not that I'm not well prepared but I'm just afraid that something is going to go wrong and out of my imagination.

I'm bringing all the originals as well, just anything I can think of and as much as I can carry.

My hubby has to work so he won't be there. We just can't afford for the both of us to take a day off under this economy. Hopefully with all the evidence I bring, they won't still be thinking that our marriage is fraud.

Best of luck to the both of us!! Praying that we will both have a nice IO!

Most people report that the USCIS don't ask for any supporting documents at all.

They will only judge the marriage a fraud if they ask you if you ever argue and you reply 'No, never'

Thank you for your advice! Lol... I don't know which kind of wood, is that maple or cherry?? Or may be oak? Aspen?

I didn't submit our mortgage paper but did submitted some cashed check of joint account from online banking for our mortgage payment. For the mortgage paper, the loan people wanted hubby to sign eligibly which is a huge difference from hubby's own signature so I don't think that can serve as a proof. I didn't see the requirement to submitting mortgage for people who hasn't taken trips longer than 6 months, but I guess I will bring my original mortgage paper anyways, just to be on the safe side!

I can answer all the questions in my sleep, I have all my documents and I havent had a problem any step of the way but I am still nervous. My overly active imagination is having me thinking all manner o fevil that can go wrong :bonk:

Luckily, my husband will be able to come with me so that will help.

I will pray for you too and that our nerves will not get the better of us
