Emily, I think you should include a copy of your divorce decree and then the court oder that elaborates the child support payments from your ex. Last 6 months deposit check copies would give more ample proof.

Hello, I just went through the same questions regarding child support and proof of it. I was told that had to show the deposits and not through the bank. You can call your local child support agency and they will send you the FINANCIAL TRANSACTION HISTORY for the periods you have received them. I just got mine and it only took 2 days thru mail. Hope this works for ya.

I dont go thru an agency as per our divorce agreement he deposits in to my account (that stipulation is also written on our divorce decree). I can't see why you cant show the money going into your account I have the images of his actual check that says child support. thanks for your reply!!!

Hello again., Mine also states in my divorce decree that a certain amount will be deposited into my account. Hmmm interesting that you and your ex do not have to go thru your county that you live in to set up child support. This is the only way that child support is considered "proof" should he decide to bail on you and not give you child support. I guess just see what happens during his interview, all they can do is give you an RFE and then you both will have to show evidence and a clean history each month with no missed payments.

foreverwaiting, most people go through State and Child Support Agency to setup the payments. But some, as per the "mutual agreement", deposit the money into other's account. In this case, divorce decree, mutual agreement and bank deposit slips are sufficient to prove child support income.

I think if the judge that signed our agreement would not think it sufficient proof of child support she would not have signed it. He has faithfully paid for five years, has never ever missed a payment. If it is written on a legal document signed by a judge that this is the way we my ex and I decided to handle child support than I would think whoever denies it would be going against a legal binding agreement... BTW he also lives up the block from me and sometimes when taking time out of his business is not possible he hands me the check and I deposit....

I will go with Loto it's a legal document if it wasnt binding then the house I live in wouldnt be proof its mine either,,,

Exactly!!! it's as per our "mutual agreement" which is written on our decree, it was ordered that he would pay by cash or check deliver to me or deposit into account every monday. Not everyone goes thru an agency...

thanks Loto!

Emily,

Mention it in the cover letter of AOS as one of the supporting documents. Then staple these child support documents as a unit and include just after your regular income documents.

Good luck!
