Hi everyone... :)

lovely to hear so much good news shared around!

Kath, I posted in tamzo's thread. You're great for posting her link here!

Lyndell, thanks for excess baggage info! I was checking United page yesterday looking for that. But what you say sounds MUCH better! Thanks heaps :)

Everyone: does going via JFK have anything to do with AP. I know you get EAD which is useful (not that I am in the biggest hurry to start working, lol - I want a bit of a break!) but we are planning to go to Europe for honeymoon. Will I have to go through "normal" AP application?

Now, what I really had to ask (I still have time for AP) is: for next Monday - can we pay cash/Eftpos? The letter says: go to the Post Office etc???

Hey, nycangel... good luck on Monday! LOL Look forward to meeting you there! Will PM you.

Ohhh... last bit... then off to bed :)

Moonie and... who else is looking into medical... Rings?

Once you do your blood test through GP, just take copy of the pathology results to the medical. The doctor will copy results he needs.

For ADT - that won't show on the blood test. If you had your last shot more than 10 years ago, ask your GP for a shot (goes on medicare as well) so you are ready!

That's it Folks! :)

Hi all

Just a question. I emailed the Consulate in Sydney about the visa issues etc since they cancelled accepting the I-130 abroad. and they sent this reply

Thank you for your inquiry.

If you have been out of the US less than 6 months of continuous residence abroad and have a US address, you must file with a USCIS domestic service center in the United States.

If this doesn’t apply to you, more information will be posted soon on the USCIS website for petitioners resident abroad about where to file.

Please refer to their website on www.uscis.gov.

The final interview will be held in Sydney

Sincerely,

Immigrant Visa Unit

American Consulate General, Sydney

So i went to this link

FILING ABROAD

Do i have to file with the Bankok office in Thailand? as my husband has been living in Aussie for 6yrs (in May). I thought we would be filing in Texas as thats where his US address falls under. But from what i am reading we can file outside the US but at a USCIS international office that covers our area.

As we are in OZ, i think we fall under the Bankok USCIS.

Now i'm totally confused.

Anyone else in my shoes? Most of what i'm reading on here it's people that havn't been married for as long as us. It's more those coming out to marry their loved ones.

I'd love to hear from anyone whos US spouse has been here for sometime.

Thanks

Hi Emerald - Nice pic!

J has only been in Australia since January so we've had to file with the USCIS that he is a resident in back in the States. Now even though he had been living in the Arizona for the last four years, because he wasn't a 'resident' there but still one of his childhood home in Chicago that was to be our USCIS (Nebraska). Basically where he pays his taxes. ?? I still don't understand that strange procedure of applying for residency just to move to a different State but there you go....

Your case is a little different cos he's been here that much longer but where will you be going when you get back to the State? Back to his old address? (residency?)

It's not much but I hope it helps.....:)

Thanks for that info Lyndel, very good to know. :star:

Hey Kath! Hope the sun is shining where you are :D

Goodluck on the interview guys...!!! B)

hi seren

well my hubby came over to get me so he bought 2 tickets through qantas..which gave us 3 free flights within oz ..

there are many online tikceting websites... do a googles for other but here are a few websites...we have always found that it is cheaper to get a ticket from oz to lax then buy tickets to detroit over here...if ya get me..eg..melb to lax....then lax to denver to detroit and so forth...i seemed to work out cheaper than buying a full on ticket to detroit from melbourne...which airport will he be landing...

qantas.com

Thai Airlines

bestflights.com.au .... they deal in usd and australian money...

lastminute.com.au

united.com

if ya need any help i can do some searchin for ya..organised many flights for friends that didnt know a damm thing about how to do it..

Lynn, I plan (visa approval pending, LOL) a one way ticket to San Francisco first week of April. Fingers crossed the price doesn't change til Monday. Air New Zealand, direct flight - 1,075 usd. Taxes incl. I find all my flights on orbitz.com

Kath, thanks heaps for the receipt. Now everyone knows I didn't know what to do at the post office! Hm! Come on... was I really the only one? Ok... maybe I was :) But hey... I'm gonna pay those 130 bucks first thing tomorrow morning, before work! You'll see!

PRIS

if you get a copy of the back of the check the USCIS stamps it with a number where you could check on line for its status...at www.uscis.gov sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt...there is also all kinds of numbers printed from your bank too...

you sent yours to Nebraska so it should be a LIN then number...anyways look for 3 letter then numbers...
