Hi all..

As of 1 hour ago here in Adelaide..

I had to take my beautiful German Shepherd Female named "Lakota"

Down to the Animal Welfare League.

With the Intentions of having her get Adopted..

As I can no longer have her where I am.

I exhausted all my avenues to house her.

I had her since she was 7 weeks old.

She would have been 13 years old this july 4th..

But when I enquired (I took her food her favorite chew toys)

They said "Sorry she's too old to be adopted"

And I had to fill out forms for her to be put down

They let me put a muzzle on here before they led her out the back,

where the Vet was waiting to put her down.

By the time I finished filling out the Paperwork,

The Vet came out and said...

Paul Lakota went Peacefully .

So i am obvioously home now... and very upset.

But she is in a better place I know

Just sucked that the last time I looked into her eyes,

She knew.. she damn well knew she was as I put the Muzzle on.

And I gave her one last huge cuddle and the vet took her away.

She was my constant companion.. and the stories I could tell..

I know that it is hard to loose a loved one (even if it is an animal - heck they are better and closer friends most the time anyway)

I am sorry about your loss and I know that not many words will help ease the pain, but remember this...

Sometimes God walks through his garden (F) (F) (F)

and he picks the prettiest flowers to take home with him

And why shouldn't he?

He grew them and tended them so lovingly...

He knew that this one was special and he smiled as he picked

And now God will bask in the glory of Lakota's time until you can come as well

It is a gift to him as Lakota was a gift to you

Paul, I'm so sorry to hear about Lakota, it must be so difficult saying goodbye to your faithful friend. Tears came to my eyes. It reminds me of my 3 Germs I had growing up. I loved them a lot and they've sinced moved on also, but I still remember them.

Whenever I had a bad day / night ,

all I needed to do was call her in the backyard,

and she come bounding (74kg dog mind you )

and give me the side to side look lol lmao

I've got a question that maybe someone can shed some light on...

On the form DS-156 Q. 22 "When do you intend to arrive in the U.S." What happens if I put an exact date in, then I actually arrive in the U.S. on a different date. Will the POE people kick my ###? (Oh please don't let the POE people kick my ###).

Another question... did you attach your photos to the DS-156's or leave that for them to do on the day? Are the two passport photos requested the same as those attached to the DS-156's or are they two separate photos?

sorry to hear about your dog, you made me cry

I brought my dog with, but we were living in Asia so a bit closer and he was a lot younger...

Thanks for getting the Fax again, Joan sent me the docs I needed this morning. She was great. She said she could send all of the medical, but I dont want to wait 2 weeks for the snail mail as it must be " sealed" and THEN go to a CS anyay to get the vacc transcribed. SO I got proof of all my negative results and immunity to take to Civil surgeon's tomorrow, she will write up a new medical without having to redo blood tests etc... Itll be on its way to CSC tomorrow afternoon!!!

goodluck with the flight, just a note to everyone, I booked my flight online through the Thai Airways website .AS I'd closed down all my bank accounts my dad got me an associate credit card from his account so it would have my name on it... it turned out MUCH cheaper than going thru a travel agent. I gave him the cash then tore up the card here in the US Saved me about $1000 AUS. at that time.
