My fiance sent me the passport photo for submitting in the package but instead of being 2 inch by 2 inch it measures 1 1/2 by 1 3/4. The face is the same size just the picture is cut down. Could something this little cause a problem? Do I need to have her send me another one of the right size or should I send it in as is?

Thanks for the info. It'll take a couple weeks to get a new pic from her so I guess the best thing to do si send it off like it is and at the same time have my fiance send me a new one just in case we do get a RFE, then we'll be more prepared.

Good day..we also had the same problem before...my fiance just found out that the passport photo i gave him was a Philippine size passport photo.. :bonk: what we did (so that I don't need to send him through mail)..I just took another photo and told the photographer to have it US Passport size(or just tell them for US Visa, they know already)..then I ask the photo store if they can save it in a cd(so that I have a copy, which they were able to do)..I sent the photo as a file to my fiance via email attachment..then he was the one who had it printed/developed there in US on a US passport size...God is always good..we didn't get an RFE...hehehe..hope we were able to help you..Have a good day!!..God bless..

An RFE may just cause unnecessary delays. You both can make a photo and print it off at your local CVS, etc. In fact all CVS does for passport photos is take a photo with a standard digital camera and then use their kiosk to format it (at least at mine). So why can't you do the same and have her take a photo with a standard digital camera and send it to you by email? You could have a new passport photo in less than a day. There are are also websites that take any digital photograph (following State Department requirements, see link below) and put it in the right format for free and then you could print it anywhere (CVS, Costco, Walgreens, etc).

An -easy- way to do this is described here: (I have never tried it so use at your own risk):

http://www.ehow.com/how_5548064_create-own-passport-photo.html

Or do it yourself with Photoshop (or other photo edit software):

http://www.dpchallenge.com/tutorial.php?TUTORIAL_ID=22

State department requirements:

Best of luck!

In addition to the ones above, you can use http://www.epassportphoto.com/

If you save the photo to your computer (rather than having them print it), then send or upload it to your local CVS/Walgreens/Wal-Mart/whatever for 1-hour service, you can get 5 photos for $1 or so.
