So I called Mtl today because when I called on Aug 4th she said I should get one the next week because my papers have been there so long.

The lady today was almost rude. She told me maybe this week because the scheduler was on vaction.. If she was I'm wondering how Meliss got a K1 interview last week.

When I called in July and didn't get one and Buttons did I was so upset. This month I'm just mad. I'm starting to think it's personal.

I hope this doesn't hapen to our I-130 appointment which is the one I want now. So much for spending the extra cash on the K3 because it's supposed to be fast.

Does anyone in Mtl know what is happening in that embassy?

I wish we had someplace to complain to without any reprocussions.

There really is no reason to be rude if someone asks why it's taking so long when someone the week before said it should be issued this week

I called the NVC this morning to see if we'd get an interview in September (I know, it seems premature, but that's what the woman I talked to last week told me to do), and the woman I spoke to today was almost rude too. (Very uncharacteristic of the NVC, in my experience.) First, she scolded me for being in the US, then after the speech about them assigning dates the second week of the month and telling me all the dates for August were already taken, she told me not to call and ask about interview dates in the future, just wait for the letter in the mail. When I told her I was just doing what the woman had told me to do last week, she said they were behind with scheduling this month. So it sounds like it's nothing personal.

I hope you get your interview very soon!! (F)

Montreal doesn't schedule K-3 interviews...NVC does that. Montreal schedules the K-1s, so in this case, comparing the two is comparing apples and oranges. :( it sounds like right now there's a bit of a slowdown (especially if both Montreal and NVC are reporting the scheduler is on vacation), guess you're stuck sitting and waiting. Sorry guys. :(

Ah so that's why its so different! Thanks for telling me that

PS BUTTONS calm down. I wasn't trying to be mean about it. It's just that most of the time the information you give confuses me and I think that is just because we are going through two totally different types of visas. Not sure if you were aware of that before but its ok. I don't want to fight about it.

I was always under the impression that MTL did K1, K3 and DCF and that NVC did the CR1/IR1 interviews.

Yikes, now I'm confused. I thought the K3 stayed at NVC only a short time (2-4 weeks?), and after a bit of background checking, was forwarded to Montreal. Then, the Embassy sends Package 3 and later, Package 4, which has your interview date. Am I smoking banana leaves again?

In any case, waiting for a date in Montreal can be a lengthy process (2-4 months?), so hang in there, tommysgirl because it's coming. Montreal wiil have fabulous weather in a few short weeks and you'll have a wonderful Fall visit. Ahhhh the criossants ... and lattes .....

Montreal does schedule the K3 and K1 interviews. I was just trying to make sure you are prepared for the interview. What happens if you get a interview and then you can't get into your medical? That would be a shame !

My guess is that when you're paying cash, you can get a convenient appointment for the medical.

I undertand where you are coming from. I am waiting til next week and then I'm going to book the medical for say.....4-6 weeks from that point. I am guessing I should have my interview around that time. If not, I can just move it back farther if need be. Thanks guys!

Ummm, aren't you supposed to wait for the interview appointment BEFORE booking the medical? Don't they ask for a letter confirming your interview date?

That's what I thought but apparently no.....youre supposed to arrange it before that cuz ur supposed to do it and then send the checklist back. But I didn't do it that way. I sent the checklist back and am waiting for the letter before I make my medical date. But ......i dont know how long it will take to get the interview letter and date because some have been posting on here saying it can take 4-6 weeks just to get the interview booked. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. It actually makes no sense to me why montreal would have you arrange for a medical first when you don't know ur interview date because some people would prefer to do it all at once (like me).
