Interview Paperwork

Hi all,

Hopefully one of you can help with this simple question.....

I'm making 3 copies of all my documents in preparation for my interview on Wednesday and I am not sure if I need to make copies of the joint tax return paperwork that is included as evidence for the i-864.

Should I make copies of this or not bother (It is quite a big document) ?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

well....you don't need to because you don't have another step , its the last step at the embassy so even if they took it , it wont be a problem because you wont need it anymore . but if you are so worried so just copy it so you wont be nervous at the interview

Good luck

Sam

Beautiful patience.

I agree with Sam, if you are going to worry about it copy it. I took multiple copies of absolutely every piece of paper I had sent to USCIS and NVC to my interview. I needed none of it but it did make me feel better.

Good luck!

You should keep a copy for yourself, if you've not already made a copy. The embassy only needed one when my husband interviewed in October 2009.

Cheers Guys,

Guess I am just thinking about photocopy costs and having to lug it around with me. But hey, The cost of the photocopying is just a drop in the ocean in the whole scheme of things!!

Am starting to get v nervous/excited about it all......It'll all be over and done in 72hrs :)

I'll be doing some photocopying tomorrow to put my mind at rest on this one matter.

Now what else can I worry about :)

Cheers again.

Thanks for the link Loto,

My wife and I are in the U.K and have applied directly to the U.S Embassy in London and not the NVC. Everything has gone very smoothly and feel We have everything ready (apart from the photocopies) .

Within the link you have provided there's several mentions of supplying personal photo's as evidence of our relationship, this is the first I have seen of this for our CR1 application.

It States "The questions below are directed toward people who have applied for the CR-1/IR-1 visas with the beneficiary living abroad" at the start.

So am I right in thinking these requirements are not relevant for our situation?

Kind regards...

Mark

Yes Mark, this guide is for CR1/IR1 filing with the USCIS. However, for the interview preparations, questions that they ask etc. would be more or less same. Since yours is DCF, as you said, carry photocopies of all the documents, your wedding album, medical package etc. Also, study I-130 and DS-230 carefully whatever filled inorder to avoid discrepancies in the form and the conversation.

Interview is just a cake walk :-)

Good luck!

Loto
