Home Residency Requirement for the K-1?

Does anyone know if there is a Home Residency Requirement for the K-1? I had never heard of such a thing until i read this post:

Just wondering because, though my fiance currently lives in his home country, he has not lived there for the entire last two years... hope this isn't a problem...

April 23 2010 -- I-129f sent

April 27 2010 -- check cashed, NOA1 dated

Aug 2, 2010 -- touched

Aug 13, 2010 -- date of NOA2, I-129F approved

Aug 17, 2010 -- NVC sent application to embassy

Sept 2, 2010 -- Medical

Sept 7, 2010 -- Receive checklist from embassy

Sept 7, 2010 -- Hand-deliver packet to embassy

Sept 30, 2010 -- Receive notice of interview date

Oct. 4, 2010 -- Interview!

This has to do with certain visas (I think student) for the US. If he has never been here on a student visa it does not apply. Have you started working on obtaining his police reports? He will need one from every country he has lived in for 6 months or longer.

Yep, I believe this is if you had a J student visa in the past which is effectively your government sponsoring you to come to the US to learn and then bring what you learned back you would have to stay in your country for 2 years per the residency requirement unless you got a waiver. You would know if you had this requirement.
