Here is what we recieved yesterday about our bio letter. Our biometrics appointment is still pending as our local ACS (Charlotte) has limited capacity. We will schedule your appointment as soon as a time becomes available. They apologized for the inconvenience and appreciate our patience. At least it is still moving along.....

I went for my bio in Charlotte on Oct. 5th (my NOA1 date was July 26th). It's interesting that they say they have limited capacity when I saw at least 6 people working and only 2 other people waiting to have their biometrics done. That said, I was in and out in about 15 minutes. I'm sure you'll receive your appointment letter any day now.

I certainly hope this was not an indication of a problem. We have also been to Charlotte before and the waiting room was empty.

I just called USCIS as it's been over a month since I got my NOA1 and I was worried in case I'd missed my biometrics letter. The first guy I spoke to asked me a ton of seemingly random and irrelevant questions and I'm convinced he'd mistaken me for somebody else. ("Are you a lawyer? Are you in the media? Which military division does this case concern?" etc. etc.) He asked for the receipt number on my NOA1 which I know isn't recognized by the system and when he couldn't find it he put me on hold for somebody else. THANKFULLY the next guy I spoke to was extremely helpful, and actually gave me my "real" receipt number, so at least I can now track my case online. He said I hadn't missed my biometrics letter; I just hadn't been scheduled for one yet. He also said to call back if I haven't received my letter by the end of .......... November. Another 2 months just for a biometrics letter? I hope not. But I'm relieved my case is actually there, with a real case number. And for the sake of my fellow August filers who haven't yet had their biometrics letter - sit tight and hang in there.

Hey,StoryAngel, we are on the same boat...I am in Houston as well and it has been 2 months now for me. The reason that USCIS gave me after I filed a service request is the same: local ASC limited capacity. I just can't believe they could be that busy. I have been to local ASC twice, one for my conditional card and one for my visa to England. Not many people were there doing fingerprint.

Something must be going on...I hope this could be over soon...exhausting...

i filed at the Vermont service center. yes 8/28 is the receipt date, and i guess my lawyer got the NOA letter, because she scan and email my NOA letter to my email address.
