Hello All,

My I-130 petition was approved yesterday! so now I am in the NVC Stage.. I will spend all day reading all the great info that is given here. I guess my first step is to track my package that is been sent to NVC. I am sure there is a thread about that.

I have a question for the experts here... My application was expedited at USCIS as per my request and thankfully it was approved. Does that mean the same goes for the NVC stage or does USClS lets them know as they pass along my approved application.

Thanks for your reply!

Emily

First of all - congratulations on your approval!

Secondly (at least in my case) the expedite did NOT carry forward to the NVC, we had to re-request the expedite at the NVC stage and AGAIN for the consulate. And just because your expedite was approved thru the USCIS - it does not automatically mean that NVC will expedite as well. It all depends on the reasons given for the expedite.

Hope that helps!

Thank you that was great information, I was granted this because of the earthquake in Chile, it is a benefit that USCIS is giving to immediate families of US citizens and LPR's. I just got back from Chile about two weeks ago and it is still quaking there, so the officer that took my request wrote a notation that it was a danger to my husband and myself when I travel to see him, and therefore the benefit available to me should be granted. I think it should carry to NVC and Consulate. Do you mention it to NVC operator and tell them of the circumstance? how did you do it?

Thanks again,

Emily

May your husband be safe and protected where ever he may be. As an American I am grateful to him for protecting us!

re: expedite at NVC - IMO, you'll have to request it , usually you'll be told to send an email ATTN SUPERVISOR SUE with the expedite request.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
