Wow...this forum is going to be empty after most of you girls are gone!

MrsKnight, when you called the Consulate, did you ask if they had your number in their system? My case was supposedly sent from the NVC to the Consulate a day before yours and the last time I called them (a week ago), they didn´t have my papers, only had me in the system. Which was enough for me to send them my Holland info (they are getting my Dutch Police Certificate on my behalf). My interview will only be scheduled after they get this paper, in 3-4 weeks. I don´t know if having your case number in their system would help you, but it doesn´t hurt to try and find out. Plus this week it will be super slow for them because of the two holidays (and they might not work Friday either!). I´m sure you will soon find out the date of your interview...and it will be before Xmas, you´ll see!!!

You're right Alix, when I called them for the first time (last week), they told me they already had me in their sistem but didn't have my papers yet.... and there was nothing I could do before they got the actual papers from the NVC.

They have been very rude to me actually. Every time I called they made me feel like I was a pain in their #$&@ for asking if they had gotten my petition. I only called twice and emailed twice.

I also agree with you about them being rude. They talk to you like they want to force you to stop talking and hang up. I almost had a heart attack last week because of their lack of communication and commom information. They had told me by e-mail a few months ago that they were going to request that dutch police certificate for me, once they got my case. Then I called to ask if they had my case already and if I could send back the form they had sent me. The girl rudely told me that I had to get the certificate myself! COMO ASSIM???????

I also agree with you about them being rude. I felt exactly like you did...it seems like they are doing you a HUGE favor by answering your call. I´m sure they don´t have the funnest job in the world, but if that´s what they have to do, they should be a little more courteous. And a bit more well-informed about procedures as well. I freaked out! I asked her if she was sure about that, since they had been the ones to give me that info (which I had confirmed at the Dept. of State website). She said yes, you have to get it yourself....we don´t get any police certificates. Well, if I knew I had to get one myself I would have done that already! Then to prove I was right I had to fax her all the e-mails they had sent me regarding that. In the end someone e-mailed me telling me to send the form that they would make the request.

I know it´s not easy, but we have to hang in there!!! Soon we´ll be getting the good news!

There you go!!! Me too!! I´ll call again in about 3 weeks, which is when they should have my papers back. And will call them everyday until they have it and schedule my appointment!!!

I tell you what... I always sent them e-mails...and got answers everytime I did it... and there wasn't any rudness on it and guess what ? I got the same answer that I would be getting if I were calling them... so my suggestion is.. JUST e-mail them your phone bill will answer and so will your ear

Hahahahahhaa...I agree...the b*tching is actually the fun part of it! And one day we´ll laugh about it!

I also always e-mailed them, but felt they were always too economical on their anwers!

I was hoping that by calling them I could find out more...but it turned out to be that disaster. I guess now the lady on the phone will never forget who I am (after what she did!), so I´ll call her in 3 weeks to haunt her again! Just kidding!

I lived in other countries before and let me tell you, immigration is like this everywhere. Also when I had to deal with the Brazilian Consulates abroad, the treatment wasn´t great either.

Now I laugh about it all!
