Vaccinaton question

Hopefully, someone here was in the same situation.

I'm getting my first HPV vaccine (CERVARIX) this Monday (July 19) at my office clinic. I called SLMEC and asked if HPV vaccine is included in the fee, she said, that it is. However, currently, they don't administer that. It will still depend on the recommendation of the doctor.

Questions:

What kind of vaccine do they give there?

Given that I already have the first shot, will they give me the second one or do I have to shoulder the cost already?

I want to know because my shot costs Php1,800. (It's cheaper because it's a company benefit but it'd be better if I'd get it for free right?) I'm thinking of delaying the first shot so I can take advantage of the shot they'll give at the St. Lukes.

St. Lukes only administers a cervical cancer shot if the doctor deems that it's necessary for you to get it. I haven't met any girls who got that shot because it's usually not required.

The Gardasil shot is a complete anti cervical cancer shot is a 3 shot series so I suggest that you get all 3 shots in one place. I suggest that you get it elsewhere to avoid the hassle since you need to get the shots within an interval of 2 months. Get a shot now, get one in September then again in December. Why not have it done in NY? I suggest Gardasil and not Cervarix because the latter won't protect you from the HPV types that causes warts in areas where the sun doesn't shine... whistling.gif

My OB-GYN suggests Gardasil over Cervarix cuz it has protection against more diseases in the long run.

They won't administer it in the medical fee because it is not required for immigration anymore

YMMV
