Good Morning MENA~

Just came back to work after being off for 4 days....ugh...now Wednesday feels like Mondayyyy.

Spent the last 2 days trying to get hubby's FL state ID since he still hasn't gotten his DL yet. (my bad)

Spent multiple hours at the DMV on Friday just for them to tell me that I had to go back to the SS office because the names didn't match with the GC (here we go again!!)

So Monday morning went to the SS office and MADE them put BOTH last names on the card. Went back to SS office yesterday morning to get temp card and then back to DMV.

Well once again waited for multiple hours for them to say that they are not taking anymore walk ins:bonk: :bonk:

and made an appointment for the 27th. My god, it's like having to give up your first born just to talk to someone at the freakin' DMV!!:( almost happy to be back at work!!!:blush:

01/12/11 - Interview - APPROVED!!!...but AP

01/24/11 - Returned to the states without my habibi :(

04/06/11 - AP was completed!! :)

05/10/11 - Visa has been issued!!!

Happy Wednesday!

We went to the SS office yesterday~easy peasy~card ordered and should be here in 7-10 days :thumbs:

Next step to fax my congresslady Immigration Liason so she can help get an answer on the AOS interview. I can not WAIT to get this part over with.

HOtter than blazes in Illinois today!

Had a super easy biometrics walk-in for our AOS today! :)

Don't get me started ranting about my experience with SSN :ranting: Ok, you just did :P Applied for my social security card on May 4th. The SS employee said that they have my birth date wrong in their system, because my POE immigration officer read it wrong on my I-94 (he could have rechecked it on the first page on my passport, my visa, or could HAVE ASKED ME!!!). Plus, my handwriting in very clear, everybody wherever I had to present my I-94, read it right!! Anyway, the SS employee copied all the evidence I had for my correct birth date and gave me a letter that I applied for a SSN and said that we should hear something in 4 weeks... Now, it's been 70 days and heard NOTHING from them. We called SS so many times and even went to the office about 3 times, and all we hear is: "No updates." I seriously think that their system is rotten :angry:

Is it true that when you receive your EAD card, you will automatically have a SSN?

ROC Timeline

8/1/12: ROC window opens
9/4/12: ROC packet sent
9/8/12: ROC packet delivered to VSC
9/12/12: Check cashed
9/14/12: NOA letter received (NOA dated 9/10/12)
9/20/12: Biometrics letter received (Bio appointment 10/15/12)
10/12/12: Early biometrics walk-in

4/27/13: RFE received

6/17/13: RFE response sent

7/1/13: ROC petition approved

7/5/13: GC received in the mail.

The SSA is a very incompetant agency. I deal with them daily for work. They lose paperwork or file it wrong regularly. About the EAD and getting a SSN automatically, I don't know about that. When my husband got his EAD he applied for his SSN and got it quickly (shocker).

Hey everyone, I'm really late for Hump day... Aya you will not automatically have an ssn.. with your POE it caused a lot of problems that will have to be fixed... it just takes awhile... sorry for all the trouble you are going through with that... :crying:
