Is this normal, or should I call?

When I look at my time line data information, listed below is what is written on my page. I clicked on the link they posted below and it does look as if I should have known something by now. According to the line chart, I should have been processed roughly 50+ days or so. Well, IDK I figured since I got my NOA1 on July 28th, I felt it's to soon to receive the NOA2. So should I call as they request below or just wait it out?

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between July 4, 2010 and July 7, 2010*.

If this date range has passed or your application is past due per USCIS processing timesthen you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition. If you have been approved please update your timeline.

Unless you are within California's "guaranteed" processing time of 5 months from the date of NOA1, they are not going to help you on the hotline. The timeline estimate is only that, merely an estimate.

On the USCIS website it says their current goal time in California is 5 months. I guess I'm not sure if you call asking about your NOA2 if they'll tell you to wait 5 or 6 months.

My point was there certainly is no "guarantee" of the length of the processing time.

Too bad they won't tell you anything at all before 5 months is up. With the super fast May and June processing, it looks like some will have their visas in hand before others are even allowed to ask about their NOA2s...

Feb. 12, 2016 - Sent N-400 to USCIS (3-year rule)

Feb. 19, 2016 - NOA1

Mar. 14, 2016 - Biometrics

June 2, 2016 - Interview - Recommended for Approval

Well no, I couldn't think of a more appropriate word.

Did you sign up for email notification at the USCIS web site? By doing that, you can see if anyone has moved your file by the dates listed. This is what we refer to as a touch. The files at the USCIS are bar coded so that every time someone moves them it must be scanned. This way they know who was the last person to "touch" the file.

It is an easy process to sign up, but make sure you write down your password. As supposedly fail safe as their system is intended to be, not everyone does all the notifications they are suppose to do. If you start to see date changes in your file, that means someone is finally working on it. Hopefully they will finish it before a weekend or vacation.

Hang in there a little longer.

I just looked at that list and I sure hope that those from August 2009 just never updated their timelines and aren't still waiting for NOA2s!!!

Please tell me it isn't possible to go that long without hearing anything..

It's possible but not likely. A lot of people don't update their timelines so it's pretty safe to disregard those.

Unfortunately, I just read on another topic thread that someone has been waiting since Sept. 2009!!! At that point it is patently unfair that they are still giving them the canned "check back in 60 days" responses...

I found actually watching the chart at the top of that page was helpful for me. As you can see, past months go up and approach 100%, and they go roughly in order. April still isn't as high as March or even January, so there are probably still other active VJers (in addition to people who forget to update) left waiting with you.

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

March 7, 2012: Tracking says "notice left"...after a phone call to post office.

More detailed time line in profile.

Is that what USCIS told that person? That doesn't sound right to me. Anyway, for the most part, you can disregard the timelines from the past that aren't complete because usually it's just that the person never came back and updated it.
