When I asked for a higher level of customer service, I was told by the first agent that it is not an immigration officer

I would be speaking to but just a higher level of the same customewr service. The next agent told me after the usual generic questions that I was not transferred to another service center when I asked and that he can see I am still at CSC.

He did ask me if I was naturalized to which I responded yes. I have heard that it may a little longer for naturalized petitioners. He just said it can actually take 5-8 months with some cases.

Jan 14 it will be 6 month !!!!!!!!!

I just checked my status online and we are approved as of 1/5. I definitely think

that my recent status request on 12/27 helped. (I checked yesterday and it did not say we were approved. No sms, email or hard copy yet.)

Congrats! May I ask how we could do a status request? My fiance called USCIS and he was told that they are currently processing July 16 filers and, to call again after 12 days-which is on our 6th month..

Pinky , call again and after you listen and answer all their questions tell them you still want to do a status request.

If the agent won't copperate insist on speaking to a 'higher level of the department'. No matter what they say keep asking that a status inquiry will be made because your case is 'out of normal processing time'. They then will say it will take 1-30 days for an email reply but it may get them in gear on your case faster.

The actual email you will receive is just generic blah blah unless there is a transfer, a RFE etc.

Click the number on the automated system that leads you to 'problem with your case.'

I also told them that I just wanted to know if the higher level can see approved on his screen, because I heard that many are not receiving sms, emails or hard copies but find out they had been approved already some time ago. 8 days after that I was apporoved.

Keep calling until you find someone nice enough to do it.

Let us know what happened.

Hello, I've been browsing these forums for about a month, and am happy to see so many July CSC filers getting approved at long last.

Alas, we were issued an RFE 5 months and 2 weeks after our NOA1 so I wanted to add this information to those trying to gauge processing times.

All in all, this thread has been very reassuring and it sure has left me feeling much, much more informed, which is the least I can do while I wait.

adding my timeline here too. july 16th NOA1, dec 3rd RFE, jan 3rd RFE response received by USCIS, jan 7th received I email notification that our petition was approved!!!!!!!!!!! i thought the 4 day turn around on the RFE was kinda impressive!

Lucky you! My NOA July17th. Learned later that on Dec 8th got RFI by talking to the higher level of USCIS reps. Email on Dec 30th about RFI but still don't know what i had missed to present in my original packet. No mail yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Don't know what to doooooooooooooooooooooo! Life is to short and a purpose of life is LOVE!
