I don't think there's any middle man. NCV accepted our case super fast, and then sent the case electronically to the embassy in Oslo.

You should be sure to email the embassy with your name in it. That's how we got things rolling so fast from there, I found out on the day they got it that they had it, and they sent my packet before they even got our papers in the mail.

I also scheduled my interview via email instead of snail mail, which made it a LOT quicker.

It's a great way to keep in touch with the US embassy in Oslo, and they respond pretty fast too!

Also if you live in Oslo, you should go to the gate of the embassy and deliver your packet, that's when they emailed me back and told me to schedule my interview that day!

I have sent probably 20+ emails back and forth with the embassy, stressing about everything, haha!

Hope your case goes fast.

Wooo at least 3 Norwegians here now. :)

Cool!!!....hey...would you happen to have a good email to use?...we would love to get that started asap, since we are headed back to Norway (sweetie is Norwegian) in about a week for a 2 wk vacation...Im wondering if the interview will be taking place this month?...Then he would have to stay (obviously) and I come on back home with him closely on my heels...would be cooler if everything went down while I was there though...then he can come back with mee!

Im thinking because you all filed prior to may 15th (which seems to be the time Vermont kicked incoming applications to Texas for processing...so the new ones got done faster, since TX had no backlogs)...but anything prior to May 15th is still being processed by vermont. ugh! :(

But I hope yall hear something soon!

Eeep, thanks for that!

I hate writing it this way, in Norway you would write the dates "27/07" for July 27th, but after having written it all, I changed it to fit the forums and... well, my soon to be, hopefully, NEW HOME: America. :)

We filed our K-1 with the Vermont Service Center and it was entered into the system on April 12th, 2010. I never did get a NOA1 letter in the mail. I called and was told to wait 30 days and call back. I waited 31 days and called back and they just said that the NOA1 was mailed and that they would not mail another one even if I did not get the first one. They said you do not need it, it is just a letter letting you know your application is under way.

I signed up to check the status online and also opted for text alert and email alert. So far we have not heard one word from anyone there. I check the status daily, in the morning and in the evening. Still sitting in "Initial Review". All we can do is wait. On Monday July 12th it will be three months and no word yet.

Some seem to get approved rather quickly and then there are those like us that seem to be lost in a pile of papers on someones desk. The question is, when will we be found and moved along.

:crying:

My case was also approved very fast, it's like a user here said, packets before may 15 went to Vermont, USCIS received my I-129F on May 4, 2010 and i got my NOA 2 on June 14, 2010. So Vermont has been working very fast.

The change was announced on the USCIS website, though unless you obsess over these forums like I do, it was easy to miss. You can go here for the info. It says that sometime in July they will publish new instructions that will have everyone send their packets directly to Texas instead of to Vermont.

I'm so glad I came across this! I'm about to send our packet in, and will have to keep an eye on that site to see if they publish those new instructions. I could just see sending it to Vermont the day they change everything and having that result in some huge delay!

2011-03-16: Medical office calls Fraser right after arriving back home in Glasgow to say there's a giant tumor showing in his x-ray and he has to have another one done. Terror ensues. He makes an appointment with his GP, who tells him he needs an ultrasound, but they don't do that there. Fraser ends up getting the ultrasound and new x-ray done at a private clinic, costing hundreds, all to find out there was never any tumor and he's in perfect health. Updated ultrasound and x-ray results sent to medical office.

It seems so unfair that Vermont has not processed the petitions in the order they were received. It's very hard to log in on this forum and see people with NOA1 dates in June recieving NOA2 in July. We received our NOA1 3/18/10 and our file status still shows as "under review" Is 115 days and counting normal?
