I went for my interview today. things went great.

I passed. I was there for like 15 minutes tops. She went through my applications, asked me:

What does the cabinet do?

How many Senators does Congress has?

What did the declaration of independence do?

How many justices on the supreme court?

How long do we elect a US representive?

I forgot the 6th question.

She said i was approved and to wait for my oath letter, she said most likely oath would be Nov 17th.

Thanks VJ

Congratulations!

Anyways I had my interview experience at the Chicago DO. Pleaseant in all aspects, but was not what i expected. I was asked to bring the tax transcripts IRS 1772, i requested them from the IRS but the IO did not even take a look at them. My interview time was at 11.00 am. I went there at 10.30 am. Checked in at the 3rd floor and was given a buzzer. In all there were 100 pple. I was called by the IO at 1.00 pm. The interview began with asking me to raise my arm and swear. Then the IO asked my 6 questions,

Who was the first president

When was the constitution written

what is the party of the president now

name three original states

What is the rule of law

last one i dont remember.

I was asked to speak and write something which i again forgot.

Anyways then the IO started to review my file, said i was approved and gave me the N652 form.

I was asked to wait out side and after 45 min got my N445 oath form for Nov 2 2010.

Overall nice experience.

Whooohhoooo!! Just got home from the Fresno Office. I PASSED!! And my Oath Ceremony will be on November 15.

I walked in, the guy told me to swear to say the truth, then he started with the civics. The questions were:

1. If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

2. During the Cold War, what was the main concern of the United States?

3. There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.

4. What is one right or freedom from the First Amendment?

5. What is one reason colonists came to America?

6. Who is in charge of the executive branch?

After that he told me to READ the question: What state has the most people?

And he told me to WRITE: California has the most people.

Then he went through ALL my application, asking my address, jobs I had, school, the trips outside the U.S., if I was single, if I had kids, asked all the questions on the PART 10 of the Application Form.

I was so nervous, right when I got out I couldn't remember the questions, but on the way home, everything started to get clear. Lol

And that was MY experience. I thought it was going to be much worse, but the man that interviewed was very gentle and kind.

My journey is pratically done. Good Luck now for those who are about to go to the interview.

Yayyy! I went on my interview today and I passed. The Oath taking ceremony is on the same day!   Thank you to all of you and Goodluck to everyone who are still waiting for the interview.

My interviewer was male, he was nice and with sense of humor. My interview took about 25 minutes, he asked my to remain standing did the oath then he asked me if I want him to go through my application first or do the test. I chose to take the test first and he said "Great choice". The questions he asked are :

1. What is the name of the national anthem?

2. What is the rule of law?

3. What major event happened in Sept. 11?

4. How old do citizens have to be to vote for President?

5. What ocean is on the West Coast of the United States?

6. Why does the flag have 13 stripes?

Reading:

* How many states does the United State have?

Written:

* There are 50 states in the United States.

He then told me that I passed the civic/reading and writing test. He went through my application and told me that I will be taking the Oath in 2hrs. I told him I'm going to mess with my husband and tell him that I didn't pass. He asked me if I want him to do it for me and I said that It would be cool...lol! He asked me to remain in his office and he went outside asked my husband to come inside because he needed to talk to him about my interview. He asked my hubby to sit down..he was so serious! He then told me if I wanna go ahead tell my husband what's going on. I told my husband I didn't pass...lol! My hubby's reaction was hilarious and the interviewer then told him that the reason I didn't pass is because he didn't stamp my application yet....:D !

I am adding ktoste to our list because she isn't on it yet.

Congrats to ravi_niu, first one on our list to become a US Citizen!

BIG Congrats to ktoste and Lhiz21 for passing their interview! And Congrats Lhiz21 for already getting the oath done same day - yea!

Before (some months ago) we speculated that the same questions were asked each month, all over the USA. But looking at these interview reports, it looks like it's not the case.

Excited about hubby's interview tomorrow. Thanks again ktoste for the Fresno report! Did they say where the Oath ceremony would be - in the Convention Center? Will they mail you the Oath invitation later?

Hubby's Citizenship interview today successful, he PASSED! He said the CO was a nice older lady. After swearing him in, she asked him for four forms of ID: Social Security card, Passport, Driver's License and Green Card. Then she asked him six questions:

1.What is the "rule of law"?

2.How old do citizens have to be to vote for President?

3.Who wrote the Declaration of Independence?

4.What ocean is on the West Coast of the United States?

5.Why does the flag have 13 stripes?

6.What is the name of the national anthem?

Of course, he answered all the questions correctly. Then she asked him to read the sentence, "How many US Senators do we have?" and asked him to write, "We have one hundred Senators."

After that she went over his application. At that point, hubby gave her the page we had corrected (we had forgotten a temporary address he was at when he worked in Florida for a few months). She asked him questions about that job. She also asked whether he was still married, had kids, and how many marriages for both of us. Then she had him sign the applications and said Congratulations, he had passed!

She then gave him the N-652 Naturalization Interview Results letter, stating he had passed, and the Form N-445, Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony on November 15 in Fresno. She said, "You won't get any additional letter by mail, this is the last letter we will give you." How great is that! USCIS saying no more letters from them – happy dance!!

Hicham had his interview today. He was asked questions about our marriage and my kids there names and ages. What town he works in ect.

THere was 6 questions he passed that is what the guy said.

THe form he got had checked you will be given another opportunity to be tested on your ablilty to????? Ability to what.

Then was also checked USCIS will send you a written decision about your applications.

and after that checked was that a decision cannot yet be made about your application

The guy that interviewed him said he would look at few more papers in the file and he would recommend him for approval.

Well that is not at all what the letter said.

Thinking this mess is over today and have to wait longer.

should i call them or wait???
