Medical Question

Hey all, My fiancee was wondering what she needed for her medical. Does she need her past medical records/immunization info or is there something else the consulate will want? Here's her question:

"if my immunization records have to be the originals, or if I can go to a doctor now, have them find out what I've had by a blood test, and testify to that?"

Thanks!

First thing is have her go to the doctor. He'll say what she needs to do. She'll say what exams she'll need and what are the vaccines she's supposed to take.

If she's taken all the vaccines the doctor asked for, a blood exam or another way to prove that she has indeed taken those vaccines would be needed. I guess. That's what happened in my case.

Also, if the procedures are the same in Brazil as the ones in Canada, she'll need the case number given by NVC so the doctor can complete the medical report. Call NVC, give your receipt number and they'll give you the case number assigned.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Timeline

My fiance has 2 mild chronic medical problems which he has been under a doctors care for several years. The immigration Dr made him go to both his Doctors to be examined and bring back the Doctors exam record. Example, he has had a heart murmur since birth. It does not bother him, but the Dr heard it upon exam. The immigration Dr requested an EKG and an Echocardiogram. So he went to his cardiologist and brought the results back to the second appointment. Believe it or not, but it only cost about 50 dollars in Algeria to see the cardiologist and have both the test. The immigration Dr was satisfied and finished his medical exam.
