Well we left for Montreal from Ohio on Monday at 5 am. I had come up so we could make the drive together and have a little family vacation.

We arrived in Montreal at 3:30 pm checked into our hotel that was awesome (thanks, hotwire.com) and really cheap. The hotel was two small blocks from the consulate.

On Tuesday at 7:20 we arrive at the consulate, there was 1 lady with a backpack and 4 chinese people ahead of us. I knew that the girl with the backpack would be set aside (thanks VJ). They opened the door at 7:25 So my husband, my daughter and I were the first through security as I had passports and interview letter in hand. Nothing else, ran through security checks fast and then escorted down stairs to wait. At 7:55 the officer came to the elevator I was first in and first out and then off to window 14. No one there we took a seat right in front of the window. There were only two other people there at this point for k and cr/ir1 visas but they all said your first. at 8:00 window opens grab a number C1 and waited for about 25 mins. Number called went to window the man there was super nice and said I brought enough papers for everyone ................ lol. Just wanted to be prepared. The man told us to go back to window 14 pay and then put the receipt in his window. Waited another 10 mins went for the interview that consisted of three questions, then the lady asked my daugher and husband to go outside. Just asked about the custody arrangements with my ex-husband. Then she said visa approved come back tomorrow at 2:30.

Wednesday we go back at 2:15 took 10 mins, nice man again was there and chatted for about 5 mins. Got the visa hopped in the car on the road at 3pm got to the thousand island bridge at 6. Easy POE -- nice border guard. We arrived home at 3 am.

What a trip !!!!!!!!!!!
