How long does it take to receive the K1 interview date in the Dominican Republic?

i'm baffled by the amount of time it's actually taking just to receive the interview date (Dominican Republic). After the consulate received my application, i called up the 1-800 number to find out the status, not only did they charged me $7 US dollars for this 3 minute call, but they are not able to narrow down or give you a ball park date as to around when you'll be receiving the interview date. My Fiancée has received absolutely NOTHING from the consulate (no forms, no package, or no letter informing they received the application).

is there a way to approximate the amount of days it'll take to receive the interview date?

Should i accompany my fiancee to the interview?

Check the timelines of the other members here in the Dominican Rep (mine is below). Try to see what the average amount of time passes it takes for Embassy in Santo Domingo to receive your case until members receive their Interview date. Your best option is to call the Department of State (Visa Specialist) in Washington D.C. Call 202 663 1225. Press Option 1 then Option 0 to speak to a visa specialist. (Do not waste your money calling the Embassy). I called and them maybe 2-3 weeks after the case had arrived and the Visa Specialist told me when the Instruction Packet (P4) was married to my fiancée and also our interview date.

Within this time period (of waiting). Check the Interview list here for your interview date

http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/scheduled_appointments.html

And also begin getting these list of things done (you will need all of these for your interview)

http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/k1-k2_instructions.html

All the forms you need for the interview is ONLINE and the same "instructions" you receive from the Emabassy are online as well. (check the link above). You can get nearly everything done before your instructions arrive. What your really waiting for is "your interview letter" that allows you to get your medical exam done.

Word of advice...sometimes people never receive their interview packet, so be proactive and keep calling and getting things done for your interview (which I'm guessing may be in July/August). If you find out your interview date and still have not received your packet, then you call the Embassy and ask if you can pick up a duplicate packet so you can get your medical done in time for the interview (call 2 weeks before the interview date).

One last thing. You Must Go To The Interview!!! They expect both people to be there...if not they can deny you immediately. Or reschedule your interview (if you're lucky).

K1 Visa Process -> 12/09-06/10 Married -> 09/10/10 AOS Process -> 09/10-12/10 Removal of Conditions-> 09/12-07/13

U.S. Naturalization -> 7/8/20

No problem. I just went through the process so I know how everyone feels. Experience is the best teacher. If you have anymore questions just ask.
