Whoa ok hold on you can get a copy of a Quebec birth certificate in English!? ...I dunno. I tried to get it in English but because my parents registered me in Quebec in French thats the only copy they would issue me.... :blink:

I have all versions of my Quebec birth certificate...short, wallet sized, long-form and Copy of an act of birth ....all in English. My original baptismal certificate was in French but I had no problem getting the birth certificates in English.

Completed 02/13/09 (19 Days)

Interview Assigned 03/27/09 (6 weeks after NVC completion)

You're right, I called to make sure before filling the form online and the guy told me that if your birth was registered in French, they can't print it in English for some reason...

Problem solved ya'll! I went to the nearest RCMP office and got a police check done in 5 minutes, and it's in English and French!

Yeah!

I promise I'll try not to worry about anything else!

You can only get your Quebec birth certificate in English if the birth was originally filed/registered in English. The default language is French and they won't issue a French birth certificate in English. I'm one of the lucky ones as mine was filed in English so I didn't need to get a translation.

I have a criminal record from the 90s and I used one that was well over a year old. They never said anything. Of Course that was through Vancouver.

Also it was a photocopy of one too.

I'm also one of the "lucky ones". My parents registered in English so I am able to request copies of my birth certificate in English.

June 2003 - Met online

July 2004 - Met in person (in Texas), then travelled back and forth for the next couple of years

June 7, 2010 - Fiancee sent off I-129F

June 23, 2010 - Application received by USCIS and routed to the California Service Center for processing (NOA1)

November 2, 2010 - Received NOA2

November 29, 2010 - Received Packet 3 from Montreal Consulate (P3 was dated Nov. 19)

December 6, 2010 - Sent Packet 3 (via XpressPost Canada)

December 20, 2010 - Received Packet 4 from Montreal Consulate (P4 was dated Dec. 14)

March 28, 2011 - Medical Examination in Toronto (Results ready on March 30 at noon)

April, 13, 2011 - Interview at Montreal Consulate *APPROVED*

April 20, 2011 - Received DHL waybill number & picked up Visa at DHL Markham

June 6, 2011 - POE at Toronto Pearson Airport

June 20, 2011 - Wedding
