What type of affidavits? If you are trying to use them as as evidence, they are friends or family members who know you guys.

They do not have to be a USC; we used a citizen of a foreign country who had only been to the US as a tourist. They do have to be familiar with your relationship...to be honest I am not sure if that means that they have to physically meet both, but I do not believe so. I suppose conversing through skype or something similar might count, but someone else will need to respond.

I have heard that sometimes it is best not to use people who might be suspected of wanting to move to the United States, like family members of the foreign citizen. We used the minister who performed our religious ceremony overseas-there was no possibility of him trying to move to the US through us. I do not know if it really matters or not, but it might be something to consider.

Affidavits are not really necessary but do provide an extra layer of proof.

They don't have to be US citizens to write the affidavits.

In fact the ones I had gotten were people who were close to me, like my daughter, who didn't meet my husband until after we were married.

Also, I had my supervisor write one because I had gotten my husband on my insurance at work. I had to submit the marriage license in as proof.

Also personal friends of both my husband and myself and coworkers who know me.

I used the templates here on VJ and changed some of the wording around.

I'm looking for real life examples, thanks for the advice though. The examples on the website are worded poorly.

In that case, I suggest including all the additional blank sheets of paper you desire as the value will be identical.

Are you suggesting that affidavits are useless (the written ones)? I hope you're right.
