minor vent :P

so I don't think my name is that difficult to spell especially when it is right there in front of you :P

someone on Facebook responded to one of my posts and spelled my name like this, "marylynn"

my SIL always spells my name, Marylin.. I am pretty sure I have corrected her before too :P

i work for a wine importer and we do business in french, german, italian and spanish speaking countries. i've found that when we get new employees here in our virginia office who aren't sure how to pronounce something - they're very stubborn, insisting to pronounce things the way they feel they should be pronounced, instead of listening and learning the correct way.

good ol'amurica. :)

The day before I left for Canada I got a statement in the mail from the bank for my deferred profit sharing from my former company. It was a transaction record that showed all of my funds had been transferred from my account, with no explanation as to where it had gone. So I called the bank and they had no record so they had to open an investigation. A week later and I had not heard anything back from the bank, so I called back and they told me that my employer had decided to change the company which managed the funds, so it was transferred to them. I didn't get anything in the mail from my former company. Now I have spent over a week trying to find someone at my former company who can tell me who to contact to find out about my money. They gave me a 1-800 number, but it is only good for use in Canada. It is several thousand dollars, so it is kinda stressful not knowing wth it is!!!

Seriously?! My last name is Walter! And YES!! Always. "Mrs. Walters" grrr. I find it pretty amusing we have the same last name.

It's funny because my maiden name is Swords, and everyone would always call me Sword.

The correct pronunciation is to say it like it is a "y", like relleno would be pronounced rey-yeno. It's the same whether it's in the middle of a word, or the beginning. Depending upon the person's accent, or how fast they speak, sometimes they cut short certain sounds. Cubans speak so fast that it seems like they cut parts of words off sometimes.
