I thought about putting this just in the off topic thread here, but meh! Hope no one minds I made a new thread.

I finally started playing Animal Crossing: Wild World on the DS a few days ago, and am already getting bored without being able to visit anyone else's towns. The first time I played last year or the year before, whenever, I couldn't get the wifi to work properly, but now I got it! :thumbs:

Do any of you play the game, and if so, can we swap friend codes?? :star:

Cool I cannot remember if I have it for the DS, but I do for the Wii (City folk I think.

I wish they'd do something different, all the Animal crossing games feel the same.

I have it! I haven't played in quite a while, but I always get bored and then revive it months later and start playing again. When I get the chance I'll go turn it on and send you my friend code. I also have the one for the Wii :)

I didn't forget! I'm cleaning up my town a little first. I let my sister borrow the game for a few months and she's messed everything up! There's clothing patterns all over the ground, it's just not pretty... ahaha.

And I was about to say..."Good luck on your pets crossing the border"....

But when I read further...

Oops....It was for some DS game instead :blush:

On that note..I don't play DS or have any pets at the moment.....

(lol...A baby who crawls around like puppy and posting on VJ keeps me busy enough...)

But I wish all of you DS Aminal Crossing players all the fun in playing!

P.S. As for "real life animal crossings"....I think all that's needed is to declare the pets and to have their vacination records up to date.....(lol..I'm sure other VJers can offer more insight into this too)...

Hummm, I'm having issues with my Wifi. For some reason the DS won't let me connect under a secured network? I don't really want to make the network unsecured just for the DS, but it seems weird that you can't play under those settings. Any ideas?

What GEEK said (appropriately... har har). You need to change your settings to WEP. I had to do that too. It's still protected, and secure w/ password and all... just a different type ? I dunno why, but yeah.

And I LOLed when you said you cleaned the town huggles... haha I was like 'aww, she didn't have to tidy up for me'. :lol:

As for pets across the border, if anyone happens to still be curious.. LOL I'll assume like anything else it's up to the officer at POE, but I brought a cat AND a hamster across without any problems. I had my cat's vaccination records up to date and they didn't even ask about it. The guy actually joked about having a cat and hamster without having any issues between them. lol

Yea, my nick has a bit in common with where my strengths lie blush.gif

At risk of putting everyone to sleep, WEP is more or less the first generation of wireless encryption standard, still very widely used, and at this time, fairly vulnerable, with the right tools, I can break through it in about 30-40 seconds. WPA is more secure, and WPA2 is the most secure standard currently commercially available, its just not supported by most wireless devices...yet. tongue_ss.gif

Well, since I'm technologically inept, I'm going to get my husband in here to see if he can fiddle with the connection settings. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing. Last time I tried to change the configuration to get the Wii to work I did something funky that completely killed the Wifi :lol:

My town had all these clothing pattern bricks covering the grass. My sister is a big nerd. She also likes to go fishing and leaves the garbage from the ocean on the beach. I can't stand when she does that! Or she chops down trees and leaves the stump... :P
