too???? Neither the beneficiary nor the USC petitioner get called for an interview at USCIS office. The rare occasion I have read of the USC being interviewed occurred from memory after a visa interview was held at the consulate and the application is under AR (administrative review) and they had concerns about validity of the marriage/fraud.

If you mean the US Consulate overseas where your fiance will interview, the answer is no. You may however accompany your fiance when he/she interviews at whichever consulate... always a good idea to show up at their interviews, but never required by any means.

If you mean the US Consulate overseas where your fiance will interview, the answer is no. You may however accompany your fiance when he/she interviews at whichever consulate... always a good idea to show up at their interviews, but never required by any means.

All depends on the country. Some consulates require the the petitioner be present...and others have specific rules against it (I guess you could sit in a waiting area...don't think any consulates would refuse entry to a USC). But in the general case, yeah your statements are correct.

Just a point of reference for others - Ciudad Juarez does NOT allow the fiance at the interview or even into the consulate - strange, but true. The only way USCs have been able to actually step foot into the consulate when their fiance or spouse is being interviewed is if they are the signer on the credit card they are using to pay the fee - and after that, I think they send them back outside!

And DOs (District Offices) sometimes interview the USC spouse (and in some cases even an ex-spouse) at various stages of the immigration process, if they have reason to believe that the marriage may not be bona fide.

The district offices throughout the country are part USCIS.

For an AOS interview for example, both will be required to be there.

You just filed the K1-I-129F, so I am going to assume you are asking about for the interview that will be at the Guangzhou Consulate in the future.

This information is specific to Guangzhou China only.

Only the beneficiary and the child (if applies) will be allowed at the actual interview room/window. The child will not be asked questions, but there is exceptions. If the child is quiet, they will be allowed to sit beside the beneficiary. If the child tries to answer a question that is not directed at them, they will be removed to the waiting area in the interview room. An older child may be asked questions alone, it is the VO's choice in this matter, while the beneficiary waits and watches.

The interview will take place on the 5th floor of the consulate building. You, the USC (petitioner) will only be allowed as far as the 4th floor waiting area of the consulate building. The USC is not allowed, nor requested to be at the interview window/process at the Guangzhou Consulate (as of this date).
