Hey guys,

We have applied for the K1 visa, our I-129f has been approved and we are now playing the waiting game. I was looking over the medical vaccination list and I have most of them I think except for Hep A & B. From what I have read I can get both of them if I get the vaccine Twinrix over a 6 month period. Has anyone recently had a Hep A and/or B vaccine? and if it does take 6 months to get it, is that going to push back my medical exam and final interview?

Thanks, we appreciate all responses!

Check the age exemptions for the vaccinations. Most of them aren't required if you are over 18 and under 60(?). My fiance is 35. He was only required to have Tetanus, MMR, polio and maybe smallpox. He never had Hep A or B and passed the medical.

Ok, sounds good. I was able to find the list of vaccinations, but not a list of the age exemptions for certain vaccines. Does anyone have a link for the list?

Toogroove, your whole process looks like it went pretty fast, any tips?? That's awesome, congrats!

In most cases you do not have to complete the vaccination series at the time of application.

For example -

my finacee (at the time) had never had any vaccinations. She got the td vaccination in Vietnam, that was all that was required for the medical exam in HCMC for visa approval.

We are now applying for AOS. She has had the next series of vaccinations completed. There are a few remaining that require months between - no problem. You just need to get them when they are due and provide the update at the next phase of processing.

We will be sending our AOS application soon so if the next vaccination becomes due prior to the interview - we will get it and provide the info at the interview.

You may want to check with you specific consulate to verify what vaccination requirements they require for visa approval.

I recently read an example (I think it was from Australia) that the consulate there required more than just the td.

Hope I'm making a little bit of sense

My sure you get an eye exam from an eye doctor if you have bad eye sight. My fiance passed everything in her medical except they said she has bad vision. So in order for them to process it she had to run to the eye doctor today to get a letter stating why her vision is bad. Just a heads up for those who didn't think bad eye sight would be a problem, like myself...

Prayer, good Karma and good luck maybe?

Seriously, we read the guides, read the instructions on the forms, asked questions on the board when it wasn't clear and double and triple checked everything. Now after the fact, the best advice I can give is to look at all of the evidence you submit with the I-129F petition with the critical eye of a CO. We included photos of me with his family which we were told at the interview helped.

Also re: vaccinations, the tetanus shot wasn't available in Tbilisi wacko.gif at the time of my fiance's medical so he will have to get it here. No big deal.

Good luck to you.
