Is it too early to contact my congress

Hello fellow VJ members. I must confess that VJ is the best thing that has happened to those who are in process of passing through immigration process in the US since slice bread and butter. My only regret though is that I did not realize this till some few days ago despite the fact that my friends have been telling me about it since january, 2010.

This is my situation and question:

I sent my I-129F application in January 27th, 2010 and received my NOA1 02/07/2010.

Since then, there has not be any action on my file. I registered online and have been checking the status on a daily basis.

Just yesterday, I read in VJ that you can contact your congressman and without wasting time, I downloaded the release form and sent it to my congress rep. I got an email today from USPS that the letter has been delivered.

My question is:

1. Is it too early to take this line of action?

2. Will this enquiry be part of the package when they send it to the embassy?

3. If answer to Qu2 is yes. How will this be looked at at the embassy? Will it help or hurt my fincee interview?

I am just thinking out loud and would appreciate if any experience member can through a light into this.

Thanks and God bless u'all.

Yes its too early, put the brakes on and try and be patient. You should not take that action unless you are outside the posted processing times. Last time I checked VSC had 5 months posted for I129f applicants and you are well within that time.

Some petitions go through quicker than others, I know its hard but try and have some patience. Checking your staus every day wil drive you bonkers. I always recommend to plan for the worse and if you hear sooner then its a great suprise.

Your response was much appreciated. I probably did a bad job by not putting my statement in past tense. I have sent the release form to my congressman. I have received an email from USPS confirming their delivery. I was just concerned if my action was way too early which I believe you answered. How will this play out down the raod when the package is sent to the embassy?

Again thanks for your input

You should be okay because it sounds like you only sent in the release form in case you need them to take action but have not actually asked them to take any action as of yet. Is this correct?

Hum.. I never thought of that. I was with the impression that once you send it they will take action because you have all the necessary information that they require to go forward.

Thanks

There was a poster on here (can't remember name or topic) but they had filed a release form with their congressman just IN CASE something went wrong with their case. They did eventually have to use it but nothing was done prior to them asking for action. Sorry I couldn't actually point you in the right direction but I'm sure you're ok like Bernie said.
