Good News - update

Brillit received a call yesterday from the embassy. They told her that they had completed the Administrative Process and for her to buy a PIN to make another interview date. They told her to bring the passports and the envelope when she comes. (I hope that means she is approved!) She is going to the bank today to get the PIN and hopefully we will know the date by the end of the day.

I already have a ticket to go down there for Carnival the last week in February. So I guess she won't be coming until March.... :crying:

Congratulations Daniel, that's great news! It sounds like all she has to do is hand in her passports when she goes back and that's it since she already had her interview. The good thing is she will probably be able to fly back with you.

Congratulations jpcanon on the I129f approval.

Does any one know if the US Bogota Embassy keeps the original Pasado Judicial. My wife just received her Visa package from Domesa and the Pasado Judicial was missing.

Thanks.

Omar, I don't know who keeps any of the documents the embassy doesn't give back but you won't ever see them again unless you file a form to get the back. It doesn't matter anyway because you won't need them anymore.

By the way, did you guys open the envelope the visa sent you via Domesa? If you did, you're going to have to go back to the embassy to have it sealed again because you're not supposed to open it. The only person authorized to open the envelope is the POE officer here in the US.

Thanks Diana, the only one that was opened was the Domesa envelope, which inside came a Letter of Instructions regarding the other sealed envelope, SSN info, my wife's passport, and the Sealed envelope. Are you telling me the that Domesa envelope should have never been opened? Then how does one manage to get out the passport so one can travel to the US ?

Thanks Diana,

Alexandra called Bogota and ask the doctor with which she will schedule her appointment and they told her 4 vaccines, I would think that would include the HPV, she is 26. It was classic Colombia she called 2 places in Cali and one said she needed 4, the honest one, and another said she need 8, the one that wanted 400.00..lol. My package has been sent from NVC enroute to Bogota and I think I have everything ready to go just waiting until Bogota receives it to fax and courier the docs they need to schedule the appointment. I have seen some people referencing copies of the entire I-129F packet being needed at the interview but isn't that what was sent from VSC? I sent the I-134 and could email her copies of the I-129F if they need it again for some reason.

Is Gonzales the better one, compared to Rua?

Thanks,

Joe

Ok, I see. Then yes, that envelope is ok to open, I thought you were referring to the other sealed envelope which can only be opened by Immigration when she arrives. Also, make sure she carries this throughout her trip since everyone and their mother will ask for it from the moment she checks in until she lands.

Joe,

You have 90 days to marry. After that you can file for AOS, which is form I-485 for $1,010. You can also file form I-765 for her work permit and form I-131 for her Advance Parole (Re-entry permit) and send all forms in the same package for the same fee. The I-765 and I-131 will be approved within 3-6 months approximately, the I-485 will take longer. She can travel with her approved I-131 as soon as she receives it in the mail.

Thanks for the info! I have started to review the AOS process... I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, as I am still waiting for the NVC to receive my NOA2, which was approved last Thur. I think that step takes a week or so for them to get that into their system?

Thanks,
