Ever since the beginning I have been worried if my ole lady would pass the physical, well her physical is in a couple of weeks and to end the agony of wondering if she would pass her physical I had her go to Cebu since she is from Hilongos, Leyte and I heard that a majority of doctors suck a55 over there so Cebu would be the better place to take her own independent physical. She got x-rayed and the whole nine yards and passed, now I know that when she goes to St. Lukes she will pass as well. What a relief...............wooohoooo

Yeah i read that and that totally sucks a-s-s, I told my ole lady not to let anyone at St. Lukes know that she just had her x-ray done recently. She will walk in there like as if it is her first time. I'm about 95% relieved that she will not have any problems but there is that 5% factor of just WHAT IF ? just WHAT IF they find something else.............. wow................ life is full of challenges..........

Sorry to get you worried Jason. I'm glad you had her do it though. Now at least you two can have a little peace of mind. It's just a ####### shoot over there. Just be prepared (like I wasn't). St. Lukes could still throw you a curve - ya just never know.

Yeah the dreaded curve ball with St. Lukes, it ticks me off thinking of how these butt-holes can really screw up your day.

Ok....so we also thought it would be good to get an xray AND sputum test before we go to SLMC.

We went to St. Lukes in Quezon City.

As we expected...the xray showed completely clear. The sputum test was negative also!

We went to SLMC as soon as we have our NVC case number (do not wait for medical appointment date).

We do not say anything to them about going to Quezon City.

Get xray done and they call her in there and say....we have some concern about you xray...so then she tells them about the xray we have already done in Quezon City and she can show it to them along with the results from the sputum test.

They say they are not interested and that she must have a sputum test and a culture test done!

She asks to see the xray they take and they say...can not show you.

Thank God we went early!!!!!

The NEW sputum test is negative. We must wait 8 weeks for the culture test results.(we began process in April as soon as we have our NVC case number)

This means we must reschedule our interview but it should only be about 2 weeks later (since we begin the medical so early).

Don't take any chances! Go to the medical as quickly as you can. It is first come first served as long as you have your NVC case number, your passport and the fee!!!

You will need to have a couple 5cm x 5cm pics which can be purchased outside.

Good luck! SLMC is a piece of work!!!!

Hey Jason,

First congrats on Rose passing the pre-physical. I just mailed the I-129f beginning of this week, so a long way off to the St. Lukes experience, but from reading on VJ I'm similarly concerned about the exam. Especially the potential of issues coming up from the chest x-ray (even in the complete absence of any symptoms of TB).

As Machie is from near Cebu (Toledo City), I'm also thinking of having her go to Cebu for a pre-exam. Which hospital and Doctor(s) did Rose see? Did you have specific tests done or just request "complete physical"? Are you satisfied with the quality? Finally, if you don't mind me asking, what did this cost?

Thanks and good luck on your next steps!

After going through what we "nearly" did, that is a great piece of advice. Go get your medical done the minute you have your case number - it could potentially save you a lot of time

Pre-exams are a complete waste of time and money. It does not matter what other Dr's say. The only thing that will matter is what St Lukes says. There is no arguing with them, and no appeal to their findings. As others have said, the best advice is to just get the physical at St Lukes as soon as you can upon getting your MNL case number.

I agree completely....for the visa application....the only thing that will matter is what St Lukes says.

However...we had a pre-exam so we would know her condition! We have SEEN the pre-exam clear xray (SLMC would not show theirs!).

We have the negative results from the pre-exam sputum test and now we have the negative results from the SLMC sputum test.

If we did not have a pre-exam she would have been freaking out when SLMC told her she had "questionable" xray. (again they WOULD NOT show her).

So....does it have an impact on what SLMC says/does....NO!

Are we happy we had the pre-exam done....YES! - It was not a waste of time and money to us!

well that may be your view of it being a waste of time....but for the $25.00 it cost It is well worth it just for the somple fact that u will have one less thing to stress about ...of coarse they (st lukes) has the final say but if your fiancee is not stressed and worried when she gets there is is well worth it !!!!!

and of coarse that is only my opinion !!!!

what would I do without the love you give me.

I disagree, perhaps to you its a waste of time and money but on my end it a relief, it gives the both of us peace of mind. I'll tell you what is a waste of money, the CFO seminar ! now that is a total waste of ones time and money.
