Just wondering how long it took your wifey to adjust to US time...

It's about 5 days in now and she's still sleeping a lot during the day.

K1 timeline :

1/11/10 - I-129F sent to California Service Center

1/19/10 - NOA1

2/18/10 - moved and changed address on USCIS site

2/19/10 - touched

3/10/10 - touched

3/10/10 - NOA2, hardcopy recieved 3/12

3/16/10 - Left NVC, recieved MNL case #

3/22/10 - USEM recieved

4/19/10 - Passed Medical

4/28/10 - Interview - Approved

4/30/10 - Picked up Visa and completed CFO

5/5/10 - POE - Honolulu, Hawaii

5/6/10 - married in Hawaii

AOS timeline:

7/8/10 - received SSN Card

7/16/10 - reported US marriage for RP records

10/18/10 - AOS delivered in Chicago

10/25/10 - NOA1

11/04/10 - Biometrics Letter Received

11/23/10 - Biometrics Completed

11/24/10 - touched

11/26/10 - touched

02/14/11 - AOS approved at Interview, GC ordered

02/22/11 - GC arrives in mail

ROC Timeline:

12/17/12 - I-751 sent to California Service Center

12/20/12 - NOA1 arrives in mail

it depends on how long you keep her "awake" during the night :lol::thumbs:

11/05/09 - Sent I-130 for mother via snail mail

11/13/09 - Received NOA1

03/05/10 - Received NOA2

03/11/10 - Case entered into NVC system, MNL case # assigned

03/18/10 - Sent DS3032 via E-mail

03/24/10 - DS3032 entered into NVC system

03/25/10 - Received IV Fee bill by E-mail, PAID both IV and AOS Fees on-line

03/26/10 - AOS Bill showed as PAID (still waiting for 2009 Tax Transcript from IRS)

03/29/10 - IV Bill showed as PAID (still waiting for mother's documents from the Philippines)

04/09/10 - Sent AOS Package by snail mail

04/12/10 - NVC received AOS package

04/19/10 - Sent IV Package by snail mail

04/21/10 - NVC received IV package

04/28/10 - AOS accepted (received checklist re:IV package even if NVC received it already)

05/03/10 - Sign In FAILED!!!!!!!!!!!

05/05/10 - AVR message: "CASE COMPLETED ON 05/04/10"

05/12/10 - Received interview letter via e-mail

05/17-18/10 - Medical Exam

06/16/10 - Interview Appointment @ the Embassy (Canceled because of sputum and culture test, 2 months waiting)

08/05/10 - New Interview Appointment

08/07/10 - Visa delivered 2 days after interview

08/27/10 - LAX P.O.E.

03.30.2011 -------ASC Appointment Notice Received

04.22.2011 -------Biometrics Appointment

08.29.2011--------APPROVED! GC RECEIVED!

Not uncommon at all - for some it can take weeks or longer.

One problem can be the dreaded nap. Its better sometimes to try and force yourself to stay awake during the day to get into the correct cycle.

It took my wife a few weeks to get fairly well adjusted but it was closer to a month or so before she was really adjusted to the new sleeping and eating patterns here.

Remember - she is experiencing a whole new world here now and that can be stressful and tiring too. Give her some time and she will be fine.

One thing I have never been able to figure out - I use to travel overseas to Asia alot and I always found it easier to adjust when traveling west than when traveling east - not sure why but it was always the same - took twice as long to adjust when I traveled home than when I left!

I get to find out in about 3 weeks, and then not only is there a time difference but also an altitude change from 5ft above sea level to 5,280ft....

One thing I have never been able to figure out - I use to travel overseas to Asia alot and I always found it easier to adjust when traveling west than when traveling east - not sure why but it was always the same - took twice as long to adjust when I traveled home than when I left!

Same story for me. I had no jet lag going west both times but I am on my second week since I came back and still feel drugged up. I thought it might be that going west I left at night and arrived in the morning so it felt like one long night. Coming back I left at night and arrived at night.

I think the reason we are able to adjust easily going to Asia is because we are happy to see our SOH and upon returning back to the USA we are all bummed out and constantly going nutz missing the other person hence making it hard to fall asleep.

The rule of thumb that they tell us in the military is it could take 1 day for every timezone you go through. I know when I was stationed in korea it would take me about 2 weeks to get used to the time. It helps if you can arrive to your location at night so you can get on the "normal" sleep schedule right away. I have noticed that most flights going to Asia get there in the evening or night....unfortunately coming back this way they arrive in the morning.

29 March 2012 Received everything back...wrong fee. thought we didn't have to pay biometrics since we were sending fingerprint cards and passport photos.

30 March 2012 Sent everything out again from Aviano AB, Italy.

10 April 2012 Check cashed

17 April 2012 Received NOA1 dated 6 April.

06 Dec 2012 Received 10 yr green card. Letter said it was approved 28 November 2012.

I just got back last night around midnight, popped a Lunesta and managed about 5 hours of sleep. I'm going to try for about 7 tonight..

Usually takes me 4-5 days to get back to normal.
