Passport as Evidence

Both my fiance and I have copies of our birth certificates, so we do not need to send copies of our passports. However, he came on a 6-month tourist visa last year, and when I met him in the UK I was on a British Visa. If we want to submit this information as evidence of us being in contact with each other during the last two years, do we need to copy the whole passport, or just those pages. Seems like a dumb question, but you never know with Immigration!!

We did that as well (both to show my trips to Kenya and to show a trip we took together to Tanzania) - we just copied the bio page & the stamps. No problems.

i submitted copies of my birth certificate and made copies of the whole passport because that's what they adviced on the visajourney guides......... it's on this link if you need to refer to it.... http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

The guides actually say a front & back copy of your birth certificate OR copies of every page of your passport OR your naturalization certificate. If you are using your birth certificate to establish that you are a US Citizen you don't need to copy every page of your passport - just the relevant pages with entry stamps if you are using that as evidence that you have met in the last 2 years.

Correct. This is another example of the importance of reading carefully, interpreting literally and responding accurately.

"OR" is often a critical word, not to be overlooked.

I used my passport for my proof of eligibility of sponsorship and included an additional copy of the 4 passport pages (which happened to be on the same page/same side when I had condensed my passport from 14ish pages to 4) with my Brazilian vitur (tourist) visa and entry stamps in the evidence section of our petition package. I did NOT include in that section another copy of my bio page -- but I used my passport instead of my birth certificate and my visa clearly has my name and biographical information on it.

Your British fiancé doesn't need to contribute his birth certificate at this point in time (though it will be required at the interview; I don't know if the UK requires it for Packet 3 or not). His bio page, tourist visa, and related stamps are sufficient for his side of things -- and actually, you COULD just leave it at that if you so desired. If you wanted to include your travel as additional evidence, as others have stated: since you are using your birth certificate for proof of citizenship, you just need your bio page and related stamps.
