Importing possessions after POE

After initially completing POE back in April, Yvonne's actually moving permanently to the US this weekend (YAYE! ). I know that, as an LPR, she can move stuff from her Canadian home to the US for up to ten years from initial POE, but does she need any other forms to allow her to do this, or is her green card enough evidence of her permission to move things?

No doubt you have seen all the threads about doing and inventory list, or not, of items she is taking with her to the U.S., so I won't even mention that - although I just did!

Thanks! There isn't much that needs to be moved; she lives with her dad and we've already furnished my apartment with furniture and stuff, plus she brought down a bunch of CDs, computer stuff and random knick-knacks when she POE'd; a lot of this load is just going to be clothes, toiletries and other personal items. We're filling up her Malibu (purchased here in the US last month; nothing to deal with paperwork-wise there) and carting it home that way.

Are you crossing at the Peace Bridge or Queenston/Lewiston? We are heading up this weekend...if we see you heading in the other direction I'll wave

I usually cross L/Q unless there's ridonkulous traffic. As I have to drive east from Buffalo, the Peace Bridge is out of the way, and there's discount gasoline at Smoking Joes about 5 miles down NY-31 just this side of the L/Q that I usually stop at.

Yvonne bought a 2009 LTZ -- lots of tricks and features in it; she did a good job picking it out.

I'm slightly confused on all this now. So my wife and I are going to do our POE tomorrow afternoon, but we are only bringing her car and the stuff she can fit in her car. So for this crossing do we not need to fill out any forms for the goods she is bringing now? She went ahead and filled out the 3299 form for when her dad is going to be bringing all her stuff down in a few months, but there is no form then for when we cross tomorrow?

No, you will not need any forms if she is accompanying the goods but you might want to have a short list of what you have. Not many have been asked to show it but better to be prepared. Best of luck for a smooth POE!
