A quick question.

I'm preparing for the interview in Kiev. I have filled out the I-134 and noticed it asked for a tax return instead of a tax transcript. All of my bank statements confirm my income. So what is necessary? A tax return or a tax transcript?

Thanks in advance.

Either tax returns or transcripts are fine.

Either/or. If you use tax returns, include copies of your w-2s/1099s. If you use transcripts. no attachments are needed. If you use a tax return, include a copy of the entire return with all forms and schedules.

Your bank statements show deposits, not income. The letter from the employer will indicate income, your paycheck stubs will indicate income, but there is nothing more official than the IRS form (tax transcripts are best) to show recognition of income.

I had everything with me. They asked me specifically for 2009 W-2 and only that form and nothing else. (I had 3 years worth of tax transcripts, returns, W-2, bank statements, pay stubs)

If you are self employed, the bank statements need to show deposits equal to income or greater. Otherwise, tax returns and W-2 statements should be sufficient. Transcripts are the official version from the IRS, but your copies of tax returns are also acceptable.
