MY QUESTIONS REGARDING I-129

QUESTION:14 Address in the United States where your fiance intends to live?

When my fiance will arrive here, we will be getting our own place together (we do not know where we will be getting the place at).. What should I do?.

For the moment, use your current address. If you put TBD you will probably get a Request for Evidence (RFE) because they won't understand what you mean . . .

I'm going to say, put your current residence because it can raise questions if your fiance's intended address is different than yours.

My understanding is that the address you give in the INTERVIEW is the one that will then become your US address until you officially change it.

Feel free to correct me.

I would just put the address you live at now and then if you move you will have to let the USCIS know eventually anywayz. they want to see that you are going to be living together so just make that apparent and you should be fine. Plus when he first arrives in the country you will still be living where you are now right??

I have a similar question to gsitlani... I guess I might as well put it here rather than us having 2 posts going about similar topics. :)

I'm currently living in my parents' house. The last time I asked this question I got two different responses - either I could write down my parents' address, or I could write "to be determined later" or something similar. Perhaps I could add an attachment explaining that I will secure an apartment prior to him moving here, but am currently living with my parents to save money? I don't want to have too many attachments for them to get confused by... but I don't really feel comfortable writing my parents' address since that's not where he intends to live.

aselano: I put my parents' house, since I'm in the same exact situation as you and staying there too (hehehe staying, I can't even bring myself to write "living" as I got back here a few months ago and will freak out if I'm here much longer). I think it was Yodrak or someone else knowledgeable who told you to put TBD, since that is technically the most truthful answer.

I still don't get why.

Why not attach an explanation? I attached an explanation about Rey's lack of middle name after the G325As, just to be clear.

Given that the people who process are not all that smart, I would simply put your parent's house. I would be afraid that if you put TBD they will lose their minds in confusion (first trying to figure out what TBD means) and would send you an RFE to provide an explanation. Go for the simpliest route here - they don't know it's your parents house and they don't need to know that you are planning to get an apartment later after you save enough money - and truthfully, I doubt they care.

Thanks! I have to add an attachment for my I-129F anyway... his 3 middle names don't fit in the box provided. So maybe I'll just answer it on the same piece of paper, marking the two seperate questions clearly. *scratches chin*

What about the option of explaining it briefly on an attachment? "His future address of residence is currently unknown. I, the American fiance, will secure an apartment for him prior to his arrival in the United States." Something like that?

If that'd be bad for some reason then I'll just give up and put my parents' house. :) I don't really feel right putting it, though.

That's a good way to think of it... rather than "I have nothing else to put so I'll just say he's gonna live here." I WILL be staying here right up until it looks like he'll be coming, then like you, I'll get an apartment for us both.

Per the forum posted on VisaJourney, it states that a G-325A form must be signed by the US citizen, and the Foreign fiancee.

By the time my fiancee mails the info to me, it will take about two more weeks. Is this a requirement?

Yes. If any of you fail to sign the forms, you'll get an RFE and will be asked to send them G325a's properly signed. It could cause even more delays.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Send your fiancee the forms to sign and mail back. If not, you will get an RFE as Mew said. The social security card is another step that happens in the US. Read through the guides and flowchart at the top of the page to get an understanding of the complete process and all of the requirments.
