Our K1 petition is at the NVC

If you've received online notice of your K1-NOA2, check your snail mail copy for the actual approval date. When I phoned NVC (603-334-0700, option 1, then option 5), the very kind person I spoke with said that we weren't approved on 7-31, when the notice was dated... we were approved on 7-27.

Also, a reminder... you cannot use the automated system for checking the status of a K-visa... the person I spoke with said that they are processed so quickly, there's no point in having the automated system updated with K-visa cases. Even so, she told me that she 'had to tell people' that we should expect the case to be forwarded within 2-4 weeks. When I told her that we knew that it was closer to 2-4 days, she agreed but wasn't able to say so officially.

Be sure to ask for your NVC case number, since that's the number by which the Embassy will recognize the case.

When you phone, be sure to have your beneficiary's birthdate and yours ready... she also asked for my phone number as verfication before she would give me any status info.

The NVC will send a letter (she verified my address) once the case has been mailed to Frankfurt. Once I've received that letter, David can call the Embassy to see whether the case has been received.

On to Frankfurt.... fly birdie, fly!!

Call and see which address they have on file for you....

they should be able to update your address then jen before sending out the letter.
