Just called NVC automated phone for update and they sent an RFE on the I-864 today. I tried calling to speak to operator (pressed 5) and all were busy. Automated service said to try after 6 PM to speak to operator.

Has anyone called after 6:00 PM? Are they there to take calls on Sat. also?

It seems anytime we have a set back or need fuirther info it's alsways on a Fri. and we have to wait the weekend

Any help on speaking to an operator soon would be helpful. We would like to know what the RFE is for or what section on the form it applies to so we get get the information by the time the letter arrives.

The NVC operators are available Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. to midnight Eastern time. The lines are busy sometimes. You have to just keep trying and trying. One time, you will be able to speak with an operator live.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

I just kept calling and calling yesterday untill I finally got through. I think their automated response thing is broken , it does not pick up as usual. I talked to a lady and did not get answers to my questions but I told her about the system acting weird.

Keep trying! You will get someone.

Thanks for your replies. I finally got thru after being kicked off the automated service several times and spoke to a nice man named Barney. He told me exactly what was missing and what we had to send.

Also asked about my K3 sitting in MTL since May and if this I-130 was complete soon if we could use the K3 interview slot when and if we get it.

He said MTL interview slot allotments for I-130's vary every month and we could call them when I-130 is complete and they could e-mail NVC to have the case forwarded and fill that slot or assign another I-130 one. (sounds like what happened to Cygnet). He was very kind and helpful.

Anyone trying to reach NVC just keep calling. It took me 6 times!!
