FILLED OUT WRONG DS-230!!!!

Is the new DS230 with or WITHOUT the email address?

That's the only difference I can see.

I know the feeling I'm also hoping for a June interview and it seem like it is taking forever. My DS230 was entered in the system on 4/12 and it isn't complete yet I hope I hear something soon. If it was RFe do you think I would have heard something already?

Make sure when you call you speak with a live rep. because I called 4 times yesterday and was told oh it takes 4-6 weeks to process and then after the 4th call I was told by a night rep. that a letter was mailed asking my husband to resend/resign the correct form HOW BOUT IT....trust me by the time you wait for the letter to come your case will already be completed because I have yet receive a letter or e-mail from the last RFE, WTH,

Damn! Mine is version 05-2009! I was about to send it in too. There are no differences in the first and second page that I could see. I wonder if I re-fill the third and fourth page for my wife (using current version) and send it in if they would RFE me.

It would take me about $30 and 7 days to get a new copy from her :S. Should I send it and see? Should I let them know that page 3-4 is modified to be correct?

I have 05-2009 and it has an email address. I wonder what they changed.

I download it from the USCIS website. I was told that the newer DS-230 was revised, I really don't see a big difference in the older DS-230 except it ask you for your e-mail address,so please make a note that the new DS-230 form is DS-230 02-2010.

DS-230 on the Travel.state.gov website, states it's OMB # and Expiration date. According to current DS-230, OMB# 1405 0015 and EXPIRATION DATE: 02/29/2012.

the one i asked my husband to fill out has an expiration date of 02/29/2012...is this the correct form??

also question 30, places u've lived since the age of 16, my husband has been living in the place ever since.

so he'll write 11-10-2000---------present

11-10-1984---------11-10-2000

his DOB is 11-10-1984 and turned 16 in 11-10-2000 is above correct???

or he can only write 11-10-2000---------present?

Well the version I have is 5/2009 and it has the email on there but I called this morning and they were nice at all and told me I just have to wait they cant tell me anything about the form.

I called too and they said it would generate an RFE if I were to send mine in. :S

The thing that sucks is all they changed in the versions was the Security Privileges of the PDF file (you can no longer modify or add form boxes). They also added an auto complete feature (it now autofills 36-38 based off what you enter for 1-3). What pisses me off is even after these changes, they still have stupid spots where you can fill in the form where it says DO NOT FILL THIS PART IN. For example, on page 2 you can type in the "signature of the applicant" and even though 45 says Do not write below the line, a consular will help you... you still can fill it in!

ARGHHHH!!! The one I sent my wife to sign was also 5/2009 edition!!! Well we're stuck at the choice of agent acceptance stage so there's not a whole of time lost. I will have her send me the 2/2010 edition.

This is just great. I just sent mine in finally and since I have him signed it back in December 2009, I'm sure I got the wrong version....sigh.....so depressing

Yea mine was 5/2009.

You find your version number on the bottom left part of the first page. The expiration date has nothing to do with it since on the bottom of the center page it says "Previous Versions are Obsolete". But some might get though. I just don't want to chance it. It would be faster for me to get the correct version from my wife, than me wait for an RFE to be generated and sent.

JFYI, FWIW, I checked the differences b/w the 5/2009 edition and the new 2/2010 edition of the ds230 form... Here's the ONLY difference:

For Q#40, part L, they have added the following phrase "or who has ever engaged in the recruitement of or the use of child soldiers".
