Hi everyone! I'm a newbie here from the Philippines. My US citizen(naturalized) Boyfriend is planning to petition me on a K1 visa, I've read some other websites and I'd like to know if being a part time worker of my boyfriend will affect his petition w/ me. His working almost 2 years in the company but as a part time only... and I know he needs to write it in a I-134 form & affidavit of support if I'm not mistaken. Please help me so that we can do something about it before he pass the I-129 form. Thank you very much.

In order to sponsor you, your fiance must meet the Poverty Guidelines. The amount of time he works is not the important factor, it's the amount of income he makes that is important.

If he does not meet the income requirements to be your sponsor, then you will have to get a co-sponsor, such as a parent, sibling, other relative or friend.

The I-134 is the affidavit of support. You'll only need it waaaaaay ahead in the process though. What matters is if he can support you in the U.S. Is he 125% above the poverty guidelines? If he is, even with a part time job, you're okay.

Poverty Guidelines found here

I've read that Manila doesn't like co-sponsor too much, in case you should need one. Also, hopefully people going through Philippines will be able to give you more accurate answers.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.
