Ya most arenas only play the national anthem of the other country is if the other team is from that country!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

SENATORS! We are the underdogs this year. After last year not making the playoffs for the first time in 11 years we're back and the new team has plenty of skill and #######, giving Sid a run for his money. We seem to always match up against the Penguins... and both times we did in the last 3 years one of the two made it to the finals... looks on this forum that no one is paying attention to our series but it's been really high intensity, great hockey. Going to the game tomorrow here in Ottawa, taking pics at our usual tailgating spot in 12C (gross!). I'm also cheering for RedWings in the West cause that's my man's team. I am against the Habs in my playoff pool but for the Canucks =). So far all the series in the NHL are pretty evenly matched up. Nice typical Canadian playoffs, it's what I like to see. Should be interesting till the end.

I too am also a hard core football fan... NY Giants are my team =)

....Bruins beat the Sabres today....:(

Oh well..We'll see what happens next...Anything can happen in the playoffs...;)

Btw..What is a 'bruin' anyways?

Lol..A sabre is a sword, a habitant is a farmer, a canuck is a Canadian.....

Really, where do teams get their names? ....I always wondered about that...hmmm......

Stupid Canucks... always get the early lead, then lose it... :crying:

Oh well, hopefully we win on Monday.

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

Woooo Avs!!

Bill and I scored some last minute tickets to the game last night so we went. The whole thing was absolutely ridiculous! We were out shot 51 to 17 and won it in overtime after a sharks player scored on his own net...

I watched most of that game but not the OT. Anderson was awesome!

I was going to goto the Caps game this past Saturday, not that difficult to get slightly elevated priced tickets, but got lazy and just stayed home and watched it on TV. Was thinking og going to Fridays home game, but will be on the Road to Rhode island to chill for a few days!

Saturday night, I was in a sports bar and was wathing the kings-canucks game. After the close first game, to see them go down 2-0 by the time I finished my first beer, I could feel my blood boiling. Kings have a history of getting blown out at times . Good to see them play so clutch and dig one out.

I started watching hockey again mid-season, so I'm quite excited about the Kings, even though they are a young team, it is exciting to watch. We are however playing against a team with a good goalie, but who is not exactly known for being clutch, so who knows what will happen.

My friend and I saw them at a pub playing on Fri night when they lost. So good to see they came back last night to win. It makes up for their crappy 2 games I went to when then lost to freaking Anaheim and Calgary back to back...

Well since my team didn't make the playoffs AGAIN this year, and my second favorite team (The Flames) didn't make it this year, then I am forced to my next team GO HABS......

rofl.gif! Ohhhh wow. Quote of the day? Possibly?

Go AVS!!

It's already shaping up to be a wild series, but I'm banking on another Sharks playoff choke.

The husband and I have tickets to game 4 on Tuesday, I'm pretty excited! star_smile.gif

Ok who invited you here anyways lol, just kidding, not fair you have tickets thats all lol.

I watched most of that game but not the OT. Anderson was awesome!

Anderson was just unbelievable! After the game everyone just stood there cheering "Andy" for about 10 minutes... and then when we were leaving the arena everyone was still cheering "Andy" in the hall and down the stairs... and then into the parking lot. I've never seen anything like it!

My friend and I saw them at a pub playing on Fri night when they lost. So good to see they came back last night to win. It makes up for their crappy 2 games I went to when then lost to freaking Anaheim and Calgary back to back...

Mid-late March time? If so I was at that Anaheim game. It was pretty terrible!

Ok who invited you here anyways lol, just kidding, not fair you have tickets thats all lol.

Sorry just can never ever go for the Sens, even if they ended up being the last Canadian team in lol.

:P

Yeah, my husband and I probably spend way to much money going to games. We're thinking about just buying season tickets next year, it would probably be worth it... but I still can't get over the price tag.

But we're totally on the same page with the Sens!! No way!
