My fiance went to go pick up his visa after waiting a month from his interview, as they advised. When he went they gave him his passport back, without a visa and said they will call him in a couple of weeks that it needed to be administrative process. I don't understand he was approved...what is going on? I tried calling the embassy and nobody would talk to me. Has anyone else had this? How can they approve and then take it away?

Sometimes in higher fraud rate countries, the Embassy will run an additional background check on the beneficiary after the interview and prior to actually issuing the visa. It could be that your fiancee has a common last name and it had a hit in a database somewhere or the Consulate simply wants to do one final check before issuing the visa.

Also, sometimes it is a random AP where the Embassy takes a certain percentage of petitions and subjects them to an additional check before issuing the visa.

In Middle Eastern countries, EVERY beneficiary is subject to AP because of the world climate.

I hope your AP is short and the visa is issued soon. Best of luck!

Alan

It is happening to a lot of west African visa applicants. It is not advisable to make costly plans until visa is in hand from any west African country.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Thanks for all your comments. And thanks for reminding me about effieb, she is my friend and I will contact her. I believe they make it a little difficult for some so not all feels it is easy to get a visa...because it is not. The paperwork and the process is long. I know things will work out as the Lord intends. Trials makes you stronger!

God bless you all through your journey!

What was the reason for being denied? And were you previously approved for a visa and then put on AP?
