Dan - re - civil documents - translations -

Do you have White Books for police report, marriage certificate, birth certificate? IF SO - no need to 'add in ' the originals - as a certified copy of the original is inside each white book.

If you don't have white books, yup - by all means, include 'original' plus the translation.

Very cool for IV bill 'paid status'. I think yer lucky - in that NVC is seemingly 'back on track'. March and the first 3 weeks of April, was massive lag for this stuff, including EP casefiles.

when you mean "White Books" are these the originals? the wife has all of these. I just have scanned copies of everything on my computer in PDF Format. I'd figure it can't hurt if i sent it all it with the DS-230. I went on the DOS Web site and looked at the documents they have listed there. I have all of these... This is a list I was going to send:

DS-230 Part 1 Signed

DS-230 Part 2 NOT Signed

Wife Birth Certificate copy

wife birth certificate translation

our marriage certificate

our marriage certificate translation

wife's police report

wife's police report translation

copy of wife's biographic page of her passport

P3 Supplment form signed by the wife with all information in Chinese. She did this when i was with her last week.

2 - Passport style photos... Should this be in jpg or pdf ???

IV Cover Sheet from the PAID NVC / DOS Webpage, just like the one from AOS Fee Bill

New EOR Letter Notarized.

Look good?

Thanks

Dan

passport photos - coverted to pdf.

There are TWO things per 'set' in the online portal -

1 is the coversheet, containing the barcode

1 is the paid receipt notice.

suggest you include both.

white books are NOT originals

white books are 'notarial translation documents' and include:

--certified copy of the original thing

--english translation

--notarial certification on the translation

GUZ IV unit understands the white books, very well.

Almost done with the document processing.. don't want to screw up now.. :bonk: So I just want to be sure.. Just got off the line with NVC again and they will send me and email from NVCInquiry@state.gov for the interview,,, right?

I did get automated response but still would like to know that they are working on it. So,,, Any suggestions at this Point? Any thing I can really do?

Yup, now ya wait. Sorry.

At this point, wait at least a week !

Called NVC today and they said that they are in receipt of the I-864 & DS-230 information and that they are reviewing those files as of today's Date. So, it was 2 Days from the time I emailed them the I-864 Files and only 1 day from the time I emailed them our DS-230 Documents to the to the date of "official" receipt. I guess you can call it an official receipt because they are "reviewing" the I-864 documents & DS-230 documents. They also told me that if all things are good, they schedule June Interview dates at the consulate during the 2nd week of May.. If so, this is very quick.....

Thanks again.. Now I wait and then call, wait and call.....etc........

date of "official" receipt no real time tick, for this, for NVC Electronic Processing. Sorry.

If you are so inclined, call NVC back today, 3 different times (be sure to check in after 10 PM EST as well)

and ask the same , exact questions -

and notice the variance in the answers.

It'll give you something to do, whilst yer waiting.

So they will give different answers? Why? different people? Kind of odd, but again we are dealing with the federal government. As I said, this one women said the recieved "Both" Packages, the I-864 and the DS-230. Then just for grins while sitting here in work, I called back. Got this guy who was a real Butthead... Was not nice and said he cannot confirm what the lady said and that I need to wait 10 days. I'll call again later to see what they will say..

Yup - keep calling, keep that social experiment in play !!!!

Note down the answers, each time.

Make a database.

Study it

Then put together some confidence intervals (ya, break out yer stats book) and compute the probability of the next time you call, to receive the right answer.

Seriously.

----

You receive different answers each time because each human that you talk to - has had different types of training at different times, and also has different 'time-in-service' compared to the last one you talked to. Also is problem about 'knowledge acquisition for NVC Electronic Processing' - most ppl at NVC know little to nothing about it.

---

FWIW - these are not 'federal employees' that yer talking to - these are employees of SERCO, INC - and transit in/out of Serco at a whim. Mostly, they are trained to read the computer screen in front of them, and thats about it. It's a small percentage who have had any longevity at SERCO for NVC Processing Center, and can talk in any detail about 'stuff' for yer casefile.

---

You think this is bad? Try calling the IRS or SSA - you'll experience FAR WORSE RESULTS.

Sounds like yet another "journey" in itself to understand the NVC.... I will keep calling and I'll probably call again before I leave work to see what happens. If it is this jerk guy, I'll hang up and try again and again.. I am sure you are correct about the Level of training... I'll keep calling until we get our interview date.... I can be persistant . :P
