Our Reaffirmed petition(Approval Notice)

Our first NOA2 last dec 17 say that our case is forwarded in NVC?unfortunately it has been reviewed and we had an RFE.After we passed the RFE our case now is reaffirmed(approved) but why does it says that our case is forwarded to the listed consulate?and not NVC? We are still trying to connect to NVC to know what is going on..

Does this means our case is already on its way to US Embassy in Manila?and why there is a statement saying if you would now like them to forward the petition to a different consulate?

PLS HELP!I WANNA UNDERSTAND ALL THIS

That appears to be your hard copy letter of approval from NVC. It wouldn't go back to them because they're done with your documents. It says your documents were/will be forwarded to the "above" consulate so I would think you should call NVC this week and see if your interview has been set. They are scheduling interviews during this week at NVC - we're all waiting to hear some news You should get an email (provided you gave one to NVC) with your interview date and instructions. If you didn't then you'll have to rely on calling them.

Sounds like everything is good and your petition is now off to the consulate

If it had already been sent to the NVC as you mentioned, once the RFE was taken care of it looks like it went of direct to the consulate.

As far as the statement asking if you would like the petition to be sent to a different consulte - that is just a canned statement, it was on our NOA2 also (even though there is only one US Cconsulate in VN! I guess in some countries there may be times when a petitioner requests a petition be changed to another consulate. Should be nothing to worry about in your case.

Typically the NVC forwards the petition to the consulate so not sure exactly what path yours followed because of the RFE.

NVC doesn't schedule K-1 Interviews. CR/IR-1 Interviews are scheduled by the NVC but the K-1s are scheduled at the Embassy level (unless that has changed since 2009).

Yes, one of you will need to call NVC and get your MNL Case Number so you have it when you call the USEM.

Here is what's next::

> Call the NVC and get your MNL#.

> Find out from the NVC when your packet was sent to Manila.

> When you know your packet is on its way to Manila, wait a week for the USEM to receive your packet and enter it into their system.

> Then, call the USEM and make an interview appointment using your MNL#.

> Use your interview appointment confirmation email from the USEM and your NOA2 to get inside St. Lukes for your medical.

> Pass your interview.

> Go sit through the CFO seminar and get their sticker attached to your passport.

If you call the NVC make sure you have the NOA2 handy. They will want the case number from the NOA2, the petitioner name and DOB and the Beneficiary name and DOB (At least that is what they asked for last September when I called).

When I got through to the NVC they were very nice and helpful. I found that our petition had been sent out the day before and was on its way to the consulate!! A few days later I received a letter from the NVC with all the info I asked about. I don't remember exactly how long it was between receiving the NOA2 and the letter from the NVC but it was pretty quick (believe it or not!!)
