So I'm taking my personal belongings (kitchen stuff,cloths etc) to the USA. I know that I'm supposed to provide a list at the border what ever I'm taking with me..I'm not sure how detail it is supposed to be but I was wondering if there is any sample one around here...

04-18-09 - I-130 sent USPS Priority to Chicago Lockbox

04-24-09 - I-130 received by USCS and the first touch

04-27-09 - I-130 NOA1 (California Service Center)

04-27-09 - Check Cashed

08-13-09 - I-130 Received NOA2 e-mail

All I did was use MSword and put a list like this:

Box 1 Dishes

Box 2 Dvds

Box 3 Old computer

Etc etc

They never even looked at it or asked to see it. I felt slightly cheated cus here I was with a list of 32 boxes and some un-boxed items like matress bed frame etc and they didnt even look at it lol.

I did a similar list, marked the boxes/totes/furniture with the corresponding number, using masking tape.

Anyway, even if they don't look at the list - you will find it really handy when you go to unpack!

My list got less specific the more I packed... I started with a specific itemized list and ended with several boxes labeled "miscellaneous" and "Junk" :lol:

That sounds about what I'm doing... but the somewhat amusing thing is that I (the USC) will probably have more boxes of stuff than my fiance will! :D (I was up there for school, and I left a lot up there, haha.)

I did the same as the others typing a nice MS Word doc and numbered boxes. As most people said - they did not want to see the list. They just told us to unlock the U-Haul trailer while we went in at the POE to process my visa. To be honest I don't even think anyone looked in it!!
