How accurate is the VJ timeline?

Timeline

This is a common question.

You have to look at it as only a small percet of the total petitions at USCIS is represented here on VJ. So, for us, the estimate was 3 months off.

Saying that, you must also think of it like a big checkout line at a big box store. You got all your stuff in your cart and you choose a check out line. Some lines move faster than others. However, you get stuck behind some old granny who is paying her bill in nickles. While you look over to checkout #4, they're moving so fast and you think it's totally not fair that you're stuck in this line when other people are moving through so quickly, even people that came after you!. Same goes for immigration. While the estimates are exactly that, estimates, you never know if your check out is going to be super fast, or if you'll get stuck behind someone who has a difficult case which requires more time.

Good luck
