DS-230 Qs. 30 : Full address or just town & state

This question has probably been asked several times. But I couldn't find it by searching the forum. There was a link to a previous thread in search results but it wasn't working.

The question is:

In Qs. 30 "Places where you have lived at for at least six months........"

Do they require the full address or just city & town, province and country.

I can see very clearly it just says "city & town, province and country". So that's all they need I would think. Correct? Or do they? Am I thinking too much?

And if the various addresses are in the same town then there should be just one entry that covers the whole period?

Has anyone been RFE'd for giving the full address, or for not giving the full address?

If there is a full address to be noted, list it. Where my husband lives, there is no "street addresses" so his was simply the town and parish he lived in. If same applies to you, then just put that down for the duration lived. Start with most present address and conclude with the the date the applicant turned 16. For example

City/Town 1 Province1 Country1 01-2006- Present

City/Town 2 Province 2 Country2 06-2005 - 01-2006

City?Town 3 Province3 Country3 (16th bday- 06-2005

You first instinct is correct. I just listed the city/town, province and country. I also had multiple addresses within the same city but again just listed the city and the entire time period I lived there. It is very important to account for the entire time frame and not to have any gaps in time.

Good luck.

Do not leave ANY gaps.

Just city/province/country is fine. No need to list specific addresses.

I did Calcutta, West Bengal, India.

She visited San Francisco on a tourist visa for 5 months and 20 days. Should we write that in Qs. 30?

Of course we will mention it in the question further down the line where dates of visiting the US are to be given. But should we also give it in Qs. 30?

It says 6 months or more though.

No, visiting is for tourist purposes. They want her residence.

She should list that in the "previous US visits."

I would write DOB------->Present as that covers the residences from age 16 to present and also accurately describes the situation. Why create an artificial milestone at age 16 when the person did not move at age 16?
