ok I kind of dragged my feet on this ....but we haven't gone to get her card yet .....here is the question......should we go this week to get it when we are getting married in a few weeks or should we wait till after the wedding so we dont have to make 2 trips and get he married name on it?

Charlie, I suggest you get it after your wedding or at least when you have your certified copy of marriage certificate handy, UNLESS Pam needs it right now for like opening bank accounts, or any transactions you plan on doing that need an SSN card from her. Anyway, you will do another trip once she has her GC because she will change the card to her married name. Same goes with state ID/driver's license.

Well that's what I did and so far I think it didn't make any difference had I got mine before the wedding. But let's see other comments from other people on what route they took.

if there is no immediate need for her ssn. it will be morepractical to wait til after you're married. remember though to do it NOT later than 2-3 weeks prior to her 1-94's expiration

It's May 24! It can't be on June because she only has 90 days and she arrived here Feb

It depends, I guess. Like for my case, I need to get SSN so that my husband (fiance that time) could claim me to his tax, more than a month before our wedding. I also need it so that I could be listed on the car insurance.

Shirr got hers as soon as the marriage cert arrived. In any case, I would suggest you do not allow the I-94 to expire or you will not be able to get a SSN until she gets her GC.

To get a drivers license here in Iowa we needed at least 30 days left on the I-94 so maybe the SSN would also have the same restriction...

We waited until after we were married so we could obtain ssn in married name.I think we had already applied for aos by then and needed a copy of work permit before we could apply for ssn.
