Is Bukidnon reasonably safe?

Hi Everybody,

I'm going in May, first to Davao City then up into the mountains of central Mindanao, to Bukidnon to meet my fiance's family. Is it reasonably safe there? Davao City doesn't worry me, and I've been around Manila quite a bit, even rented an apartment in Tondo last summer, so I know what precautions to take as far as that goes. But up in the mountains of Mindanao? Should I be worried? I like to get off the tourist trail, and I'll be with locals. It looks really beautiful there.

Thanks for any advice.

I lived in one of the barangays in Valencia, Bukidnon for 12 years before my family moved to Cebu City in 2001.

Which specific area in Bukidnon are you visiting? That province isn't made of mountains alone. :P

hello to you,

have an assurance from your fiancee about your safety if your there,if she say so then there's no problem...

with me and my fiancee we disscuss about it,pros and cons i grow up in south cotabato and my family was there but after our thorough disscussion we opt not to go for some reason,but he was able to meet my mom here in manila and some of my cousins and friend that are here.then just headed on visayas for some nice beaches .davao is a big city and safe place to go i've spent my 5 yrs college there but with bukidnon i don't have any idea ,try to talk to your fiancee all i know the place is warm and have lots of farm sugarcane ,pineapple etc...

Goodluck on your visit ,it would be worth after all..... :star:

2007-10-17Officially engaged to my one and only love hubby & formally proposed in front of my family

2007-10-22Flew back to the US

2008-02-022nd visit of my hubby and picked him up at Cebu International Airport

2008-02-04Went into the US embassy Cebu to get his certificate of legal capacity

2008-02-05Flew back together into Davao City and drove to Tagum City

2008-02-27Our awaited precious moment the WEDDING DAY!!!!

2009-05-013rd visit of my hubby and picked him up at Hong Kong International Airport
