Yeah, I had to go to the local tourist bureau to find postcards - then I found that convenience stores with gas stations also carry them sometimes and you can also find them in hotel lobbies. I had to look around as well until I found something appropriate. All the places I thought would carry them didn't, but I picked up an assortment so I am ready for next month too! I mailed mine out last Thursday so the recipient should have it by now :).

most dollar stores around here carry postcards...

Yeah, I thought I would find some at a dollar store here but after I checked 3 and none of them had postcards I decided to check elsewhere. Neither Walmarts nor Target and none of the drugstores I checked had them either :(. I know when I am not looking for them, I see them everywhere!

Try bookstores or hallmark card type stores. They might have a few. :)

Me too.. at least I hope so. Everywhere I go I get very strange looks when I ask if they carry postcards. :unsure:

Now that I have my wedding invitations mailed out I was ready to get postcards. Walked to the local pharmacy figuring they would have a selection and all the clerks looked at me like I was crazy. I am going to just make one from a 4 by 6 photo paper I have and some pictures I have taken around Battle Creek Michigan. Now to create the fun postcard!

Nothing at the dollar store, nothing at Hallmark, didn't go to the gas station :) I finally found it at Barnes and Noble.

So to the person who will eventually get my card I offer up the following explanation. Not exactly specific to New Jersey but it does have some semblance of a garden theme and we are the "Garden State." :D

Hi Everyone,

Lol..Likewise, I had problems finding postcards too, be it that I'm in a very small town....

I drove for miles and miles....And I didn't have too much luck there...:(

But nevertheless, I have 'one-of-a-kind' postcards...So hopefully, this will be ok...;)

To the person receiving my postcard: It's all written up and ready to go and you should get it in the mail either by Saturday or Monday at latest....Please PM me to let me know when you received such, as I want to make sure it gets there alright....Thanks....

Meanwhile, I'll be checking my mail for my postcard too....

Oh what fun I will have bike-riding everyday to my mailbox! I'm definitely looking forward to that!

hmm.. that depends, why didn't it work? You could try putting a card-paper backing on it to make it sturdier, or just put it in an envelope. :)

EDIT: aahhh hahahah I just realized I read your reply wrong... dur. I thought you meant you were trying to mail (i.e. post) an actual photo and they wouldn't accept it. :whistle: LOL

And no worries if you don't use the theme or can't find it. I'm surprised (and saddened) at how hard it is to find postcards sometimes! I have a little bit of trouble, and I live in a touristy town! lol I did find a couple of hotspots though :)

Well, I tried to print a picture but my printer was being obstinate last night. I finally found a place with post cards and I think it can even fit into the theme of "sun". I can't wait to mail mine out.
