Hi everyone,

my case is in AP. My husband said it seemed like everything was going fine until the children came up. Now I dont know what to do. I have been the one who helps take care of them? I email the embassy stating that. What more can I do.

Are they (children) both of yours? Or from a previous marriage?

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

If he is in name check AP, and not in AP for missing documents, then there is nothing you can do but wait. Name check AP takes however long it takes and cannot be rushed. If it makes you feel better call DOS about once a week and check on the case.

Other than this I suggest you find a hobby and just wait it out, I know it is tough but there is nothing that can be done.

From is other relationship. He was never married before me.

So perhaps they need to show that other parent is ok with them leaving?

Oh boy, now I'm feeling nervous about this consulate. My husband has a child too, but he will not follow-to-join because his mother likely wouldn't want him to come. He is her only child so I understand that letting him go would be hard. I hope they don't give us a difficult time at the consulate. Did they give him a white slip or a blue slip?

What is the different with the slip? I did not ask him. I dont know what to tell you just that every case is different.

From what I have read in the forums here A white paper/slip and a blue paper/slip given to you after your interview are mostly the same. They are both checklists of the lacking documents you have to submit. The difference is that the white paper contains the Consul's signature, while the blue paper is where you will fill up your basic information.

I have also read that either paper/slip can contain a denial, but that is not true for everyone, depends on case and sometimes country. Since you case is in AP I sure your husband didn't get a denial so he may be getting his Visa very soon. Hopefully they complete their investigation soon. Good luck.

Thank you for informing me. I just want my hubby to get his visa. I have love this man for most of my life. I have been through ups and downs with him, I have known his children from birth and support them with school and everything else. So, I really dont know what they are looking for. I thought we had all the proof we needed. We talked about five to six times during the day. I went home twice to see him last year. We went to JA for vacation and Antigua where we got married. Yes, I understand that our family and friends were not there, but since when is that a crime? We just wanted an intimate and private wedding. I am just praying that everything will be alright.

It seems to me that they are giving most people that got through that Consulate a very hard time. I know how you feel because my wedding was very very small too. To make matters worse only my cousin and her husband was the my only family in attendance because most of my family lives here in the US and it was a bit short notice on my part informing them that I would be getting married. On top of that my grandfather died a few days before my wedding so my grandmother was unable to come and my aunts as well; they had to stay home for his wake. But my husband's family was there with us. We have already talked about doing another ceremony when (God willing) he gets here. i think it is completely unfair that they would question the number of people or who attended anyone's wedding especially in light of the economic atmosphere. I certainly could not justify having a big wedding nor did I want one.

I say you continue to pray because prayer truly helps and because your relationship is true then they will see it even if it takes a few more days. I sincerely wish you the best and I hope your husband comes in time for the summer if not earlier.

Jujuswife,

I still don't understand why they could question our relationship. I dont think it is fair but that how it is. I do know that I married my husband for love and nothing else. Why would I married a man with children and assist him and spent money to see it and go to other countries for vacation with him if I did not love him or he did not love me. So I know at the end of this they will grant us the visa. And thank you for writing me back.

I thought I would touch bases with you. How is the processing going for you? I hope you are not stressing yourself out? Have they given your husband his visa?
