Hello fellow yardie!

Congrats on sending the I130. Your first NO1 should get to you in about a week. My NO2 took 4 mos, but Im seeing things are moving a bit faster.

As a fellow yardie, my suggestion to you would be to get started on getting the paperwork going for when you land in the NVC. For instance, make sure hubby has all his immunizations up to date- that way you wont pay an arm and a leg when he needs his medical. Also, see about him getting his police certificate in Kingston right away (I believe they are good for a whole year) I WISH me and my husband would have gotten his police certificate - this held us up for a week or two because he had to go apply for it, and then go back to pick it up 3 days later. You can chose the 21 day process since you have some time. (it costs a lot less) have him get his original birth certificate ready and sent to you - you will need this for the DS230.

We will get you thru this process! I'm here for you. Please let me know if you have any questions, etc.

if you click yer flag

you'll be taken to the Jamaica Portal.

Then , on the left panel, is a small menu of timelines.

Click the one that applies to you,

then study the timelines - you can change up the sorting on the different timeticks - my fav is the NOA-2 timetick...

So, if you study the timeline charts, you'll get a better grasp of stuff...

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

We thought so too- but not for travel purposes. Same day service is not available. My husband applied for his on a monday, and it was ready that thursday to pick up.

Ok... so just a friendly word of advice that don't start stressing the days just yet as you will be in for a LONG few months... 12 days is NOTHING in this wait... You will have to put on some patience pants when dealing with USCIS as NOTHING moves quickly. I definetly would not stress about 12 days... you figure it takes 2-3 days for the package to be opened, less the weekends so they have had about 6 business days of having it in their hands THEN the form has to be generated THEN mailed to you...

You will need to chill a bit as this next process of USCIS is about 3 - 5 months of no contact... I would find

10/14/2000 - Met Aboard a Cruise ship

06/14/2003 - Married Savona Italy

I-130

03/21/2009 - I-130 Mailed to Chicago lockbox

11-30-09: GOT GREEN CARD in mail!!!!!!

Citizenship Process;

1/11/2013: Mailed N400 to Dallas Texas

3/11/2013: interview.. Approved

4/4/2013. : Oath! Now a U.S. citizen!

First let me start by congratulating you on your marriage... (L)

The entire CR1 process will take you an average of 7 to 9 months, so to start stressing out about the NOA1, will not help you. I would suggest you take this time to understand this entire process, by reading the guides and others experiences in this journey.

I would also, recommend that you and your husband, really talk and get to know everything there is to know about each other aswell. This is not journey you would want to get surprised by an "inaccuracy" when you are close to the end of this journey. It has happen to the best of them.

Good luck and have patience..

I feel for you, my wife is in Japan and it feels like it's been forever now that we're married.

However on a good note if it helps, read the timelines below our posts to give you an idea of what to expect and when. I filed my I-130 package in the middle of January, just over two months later it was approved and sent to NVC. Today I got the I-864 bill (and paid it online), so things seem to be moving along quite nicely.

Hang in there, you'll be fine, we all miss our spouses when we're separated like this but there is a rainbow at the end of the line. :)

Mike

Relationship Timeline:

07/19/2003 - Met here in the US and just clicked

05/2004 through 08/2009 - many trips back and forth by both of us, phone calls, care packages, etc.

02/14/2008 - Engaged (she was here in the US for Valentines Day so I figured make it official :))

11/21/2009 - Married with a few friends and some family in attendence.

CR1 Timeline:

01/12/2010 - I-130 Packet Sent

<interviening stuff deleted as signature is finite in length>

08/30/2010 - Interview completed, visa granted.

08/31/2010 - Visa in hand!

09/07/2010 - Arriving Seattle.

09/17/2010 - Received SSN.

10/01/2010 - Received green card.

Removal of Conditions:

06/06/2012 - Mailed I-751

06/12/2012 - Got back I-751 as "too early"

06/13/2012 - Re-mailed I-751

06/18/2012 - NOA1

07/13/2012 - Biometrics Appointment letter received (scheduled for 08/06/2012)

08/06/2012 - Biometrics completed.
